The age old debate is back.

Which is the better MOBA between Dota 2 and League of Legends?

LoL has a significantly larger playerbase however many claim that Dota is a more complex game.

Why is Dota 2 better than League of Legends?

I moved from LOL to DoTa, and I’ve almost never regretted it since.

The main reason? Flexibility and complexity, these two things lead to more different and challenging games, which was one of the reasons league began to feel unattractive in the first place.

While the game model of a moba is that every round should play out in the same boundaries, repeating something over and over again gets boring eventually. In league this meant static laning and item builds, while in DoTa people pulled off more “bullshit” because items and skills have a much greater impact on the game.

This means it is not only more demanding (may or may not be a good thing) but that more possibilities are involved. This design philosphy of everything is allowed could be shown from the old strategy of cliffing for some heroes.

Where you can get enemies trapped in the game map (until they tp out) if they make a positioning mistake occasionally.

Is Dota 2 or LoL more popular?

It’s not just seemingly so, it is more popular. League of Legends has over 32 million monthly active players and 12 million daily active players (Dota has about 500,000).

Is LoL harder than Dota 2?

Dota IS mechanically harder than LoL though. With more item actives means more buttons to push. And some heroes have 6 skills like Morphling. However these simply come down to muscle memory after not too long.

Is Dota 2 community better than LoL?

Hell no. Both communities employ exactly the same methods of abuse. Even the “catchphrases”, playstyle and the wording are the same.
