Lionsgate has debuted the trailer for Rupert Sanders’ remake of “The Crow,” starring Bill Skarsgård and FKA Twigs.
The film is set for release on June 7.
The Crow (2024) Official Trailer: Bill Skarsgård
The Crow – coming soon to theaters! Starring Bill Skarsgård, FKA twigs, and Danny Huston.
Bill Skarsgård is probably best known in this country as the guy beneath Pennywise’s creepy-clown greasepaint in the recent It chillers.
But that will likely change when audiences get their first look at the Swedish actor in director Rupert Sanders’s new big-screen take on The Crow.
Skarsgård steps into the role of goth rocker Eric Draven, who, along with his lover, Shelly (FKA Twigs), is brutally murdered when the demons of Shelly’s past (in the form of a deliciously insinuating Danny Huston) catch up with them.
Brandon Lee’s The Crow Co-Star Has Strong Reaction To Bill Skarsgård’s Remake Look
Brandon Lee’s The Crow co-star Rochelle Davis has a strong reaction to Bill Skarsgård’s controversial look in the upcoming remake of the cult classic.
Rochelle Davis criticizes Bill Skarsgård’s ” dingy, dirty, grungy ” look as Eric Draven, calling for a Lee lookalike instead.
The new Eric Draven’s disheveled appearance aligns with the character’s punk rock origins, drawing comparisons to his comic book inspiration of Iggy Pop.
Skarsgård’s version of Eric Draven pays homage to the original while introducing new elements for a modern audience in The Crow remake.
“The Crow is the original anti-superhero,” Sanders said in a statement.
“His story is about tragic loss, about dealing with the pain of everything that comes with losing someone you love, something that all of us have or will encounter at some point in our lives. … Our version goes back to that graphic novel by James O’Barr, who I had the honor of meeting shortly before production, and explores the love story as the primary drive for our film.”
