If you’re not ready to start your shopping just yet, Walmart’s Black Friday Deals for Days ad provides a sneak peek of the kind of deals you should expect to see over the next few weeks. As seen in the ad, Walmart’s Deals for Days 2021 event is operating just as it did in 2020, with sales rolling out in drops. Early Black Friday sales have already kicked off ahead of Nov. 26. For instance, Walmart dropped its Black Friday Deals For Days on Nov. 3 after leaking the deals in October. Target’s holiday sales began on Oct. 31, and the giant retail company will continue adding new deals every Sunday.

Best Buy, Amazon, Macy’s and other retailers all have early sales in the wings, too.

But will better deals be available on the “real” Black Friday, Nov. 26? Possibly. Will even better prices on that TV you’re eyeing be available three days later, on Cyber Monday, Nov. 29? Probably not. Yes, that may sound a bit confusing, but here’s how you should best time your shopping in 2021 — and why this year is delivering a different holiday shopping experience than we’ve seen in the past.

Why Cyber Monday isn’t worth waiting for this year

Sales are usually just the exact same Black Friday deals with a different name.

One reason you shouldn’t wait is that many of the prices don’t change over the Thanksgiving weekend (if the products stay in stock — see below). So stores might change the terminology in their advertising, but — in most cases — you’re still getting that Amazon Fire Stick for $25 (or whatever the price may be) whether you buy it Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday.
