Five Nights At Freddy’s: Security Breach – 5 Fan Theories We Want To Come True
From an open world to the series being ‘just a dream,’ these Five Nights At Freddy’s: Security Breach fan theories could make or break the game!
The next installment of Five Nights at Freddy’s is scheduled to be released in 2021. As fans excitedly wait for its arrival, they dig into all the potential twists and turns the newest game might have to offer. Given the series’ massive fanbase and huge behind-the-scenes lore, there are plenty of fan theories floating around.
The newest installment is complemented by seven other canon games, multiple novels and novellas, and an upcoming movie. It may not be the most terrifying horror series, but it’s certainly spooky and as popular as ever. That being said, the game has a lot of content and story to pull apart. As the release date for Five Night’s at Freddy‘s: Security Breach approaches, fans pitch theories about what the game will include.
We Want To Come True: Glitchtrap Will Return As The Main Antagonist
Glitchtrap, or “The Anomaly,” was the main antagonist of Scott Cawthon’s Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Helped Wanted. He was confirmed to be William Afton in the form of a digital virus, bent on merging with the player so that he could escape from his ghastly digital realm.
The digital anthropomorphic rabbit is, in its own way, as frightening as any monstrous Resident Evil enemy, and he may be set to return in Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach (although the form he will take is uncertain). Whether he makes a physical appearance in the game or is simply trying to accumulate a group of loyal followers is uncertain. Whatever the case, Glitchtrap is sure to be a malicious presence in the newest installment of the Five Nights series.
We Don’t Want To Come True: William Is Trying To Reincarnate Himself
William seems to be the focal point of fan theories, but recent games and novels have cleared up some speculation. Fans know they haven’t seen the last of him, even after Springtrap perishes in Five Nights at Freddy’s 3. After all, one of William’s most iconic lines in the games is “I always come back.”
While William does appear to be the center of many plotlines, many think his presence is overused, that it might be time to switch him out for a new villain or allow him a fitting end in the Five Nights universe.
We Want To Come True: There Will Be A New Way To Play
The trailer for Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach was crammed with sneak peeks, Easter Eggs, and split-second reveals. One of the interesting features to note was the addition of what looks to be a forklift with an electric bolt on one side. There is speculation that the forklift may be another new mechanic the player uses to evade harm.
We Don’t Want To Come True: The Entire Series Is A Dream
There’s a reason why this indie horror series is so popular. Its lore is absolutely massive. However, many fans speculate that the entire series is just a dream in the head of the bite victim of 1983. As the protagonist of the fourth installment, the bite victim fends off a series of nightmare animatronics with a flashlight.
We Want To Come True: The New Animatronics Will Not Be Possessed
Among horror games of this style, Five Nights stood apart by being so straightforward to play yet rich with story. One of the most enticing features of the game’s lore was the possessed animatronics.
However, the Glamrocks seem to be very different to the other animatronics. In fact, a statue released as merchandise for the newest game features potential protagonist Gregory hiding in the stomach cavity of Glamrock Freddy. Fans, intrigued by the twist, assume this is because the newer animatronics are programmed to help kids and are not shells for tortured souls.
We Don’t Want To Come True: Gregory Is The Crying Child
The presumed protagonist of the newest game is Gregory, a child we see hiding in the stomach cavity of Glamrock Freddy in new statue merchandise. We hear his name in the trailer, in the voice of the same Freddy. Fans speculate, due to similar appearances, that Gregory and the Crying Child are the same.
We Want To Come True: The Glamrocks Are Friendly
The Funtime animatronics from the second game of the Five Nights series were programmed to kill, featuring mechanics like voice mimicking, proximity sensors, and vicious claws planted in their abdomens. However, the Glamrocks seem to be the opposite. In the trailer, it sounds as though Glamrock Freddy is hiding with Gregory, not pursuing him.
We Don’t Want To Come True: Vanny Is William’s Protégé
Vanny made a brief appearance in Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted. Some fans speculate that she will either accompany Glitchtrap as the main villain of the newest game or be the villain herself.
We Want To Come True: It Could Be An Open-World Game
The best open-world games are often complex and captivating, with so much room to explore. Up until now, the format of the Five Nights franchise has mostly been restricted to point-and-click. It has been praised for this mechanic, despite seeming rather simple at first. Five Nights exceeds expectations for your average point-and-click and adds on jump scares, security cameras, ventilation systems and more.
We Don’t Want To Come True: More Complicated Lore
One of the things some fans love about Five Nights at Freddy’s is the lore. On the other hand, one of the things other fans don’t enjoy about Five Night’s at Freddy’s… is the lore. With eight canon games, several novels, and a movie adaptation upcoming, the lore in Five Nights tends to get a little overzealous.

The camera cuts to the end of the nearby hallway to reveal that the purple-obsessed serial killer, William Afton, has seemingly survived his fiery fate at the end of Pizzeria Simulator. For those who aren’t aware of this terrifying figure, William Afton is the main antagonist of the Five Nights at Freddy’s series.
At the end of the original game, Glitchtrap attempts to possess her in order to escape from The Freddy Fazbear Virtual Experience and into the real world. He partially succeeds, gaining influence over her as a voice in her head.
