Christie Brinkley doesn’t seem to age, and her latest social media upload is proof of the fact that she’s worked hard to look this good.
Christie Brinkley stuns in a black bikini in age-defying vacation photo
The supermodel took to Instagram to share a picture of herself wearing a skimpy black string bikini with a sheer lace cover-up and a straw hat.
The two-piece showed off her flawlessly toned figure which the 67-year-old maintains with a strict regimen of exercise and healthy eating.
She revealed with the picture that she paid just as much attention to her facial beauty, revealing that she had a specific regimen to follow before going out in the sun.
In the mirror selfie, she could be seen applying her SBLA Beauty lip plumper, as she wrote in the caption: “Hat [check] Sunblock [check] SBLA Lip Plump and Sculpt [check] Gratitude [check] @sblabeauty.”
Fans were absolutely stunned at how incredible Christie looked in the swimsuit, with one writing: “Good lord Christy!! Talk about blessed!”
Christie Brinkley, 67, Drops A Major Skincare Tip
“The words to this song are my wish for you..and I’m going to add an important beauty tip I wish I had heard sooner..protect your skin while enjoying your sweet happy life,” she wrote in the caption. “Be sure to use SPF every day. I’m wearing SPF 50, a swimsuit with long-sleeved sun protection, and a hat!”
Christie also shared that she didn’t “wise up to the damaging effects of the sun fast enough,” before plugging SBLA Beauty (she’s a brand ambassador) to help reverse signs of sun overexposure.
People were all about it in the comments. “Always so gorgeous ❤️❤️❤️,” one wrote. “Excellent tips! ?,” chimed a superfan. “Queen ??????,” another said.
Christie has made it more than clear that she works hard for that gorgeous skin, although she doesn’t go too OTT. “I start every day by exfoliating my face,” she previously told Byrdie. “That’s something I’ve done for the past 40 years. I feel like it’s really contributed to my skin feeling fresh and smooth. Forty years ago, I read an article that said men always look five years younger than women who are the same age. They contributed that to them shaving every day, and the daily exfoliating with shaving their skin makes them look younger.”
She talks about her skin products
At night, she told W, she uses “gentle cleansers” to wash off her makeup, along with Andrea Eye Q’s eye-makeup-remover wipes, her oils again, and then lastly her Recapture 360 Night Anti-Aging Treatment “to work with the biorhythms of my body while I sleep.”
Christie also fuels her skin from the inside out with a plant-based diet. “I’m practically a lifelong vegetarian—I became one when I was about 13 or 14 years old,” she told Byrdie. “I’ve raised my kids on what I call the ‘rainbow diet.’ I want as many colors as possible. These are all the ingredients that do wonderful things to your skin. The deep green, the leafy greens, the purples in the skin of the grapes, which produce all the antioxidants and vitamins you get from a colorful, rich diet like that.”
Christie Brinkley: The non-negotiable daily habit that gives her energy and focus
“Every day, I count my blessings,” Brinkley tells CNBC Make It. “Because some days can be better days than others but by the time I finish counting my blessings, I feel like it’s a pretty good day.”
Taking time each day to practice gratitude gives her added health, energy and productivity, she says. “I always tell my kids to do [it] because it really does move away the clutter and give you focus.”
Many studies over the last decade have shown that those who consciously count their blessings tend to be happier and less depressed. There are also a host of other benefits associated with gratitude, including better sleep, more exercise and lower levels of inflammation and blood pressure, according to Glenn Fox, an expert in the science of gratitude at the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.
Brinkley says she practices gratitude throughout the day and when she is bothered by something. “As soon as anything is annoying, I put it in perspective,” says Brinkley, who spoke with CNBC Make It while promoting beauty tool brand SBLA.
Because of that “things just don’t really bother me that much because I have a pretty good idea of what really matters,” she says.
Brinkley has been promoting the practice of gratitude for years
When she made headlines in 2017 for gracing the cover of Sports Illustrated at age 63 with her two daughters, Alexa Ray Joel, now 35, and Sailor Brinkley-Cook, now 23, she told WWD gratitude was a big part of her formula for staying healthy and happy.
“Eat right, exercise and sunblock are the three things that will affect your outcome more than anything, as well as a healthy attitude,” she said. “An attitude of gratitude is the formula for a happy life and I truly believe that happiness contributes to your wellbeing and to your health.”
Christie Brinkley Is Aging on Her Own Terms, Hip Replacement & All
Christie Brinkley became famous for her Sports Illustrated shoots in the ’70s
After Christie Brinkley appeared in Sports Illustrated at the age of 63 in 2017, renewed attention focused on the model-turned-actress-turned entrepreneur. What many people (or at least those who didn’t grow up before the ’90s) might not know is that Brinkley actually owes her fame to being the first three-time consecutive Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue cover star. While she had landed her first appearance in the magazine in 1975, it wasn’t until 1979 that she landed her first Swimsuit cover. She then secured the coveted spot again in 1980 and 1981.
Of course, that’s not the only thing Brinkley’s been a first at for the magazine. She’s also the first model to ever appear with her children within its pages. In 2017, she dazzled in a red bikini alongside her daughters Sailor and Alexa Ray, who were 18 and 31, respectively, at the time. And, just like her debut some 40 years prior, fans were just as taken with the images.
Christie Brinkley had her own skincare line
While her cosmetic career began in makeup, Christie Brinkley went on to create her own skincare line, Christie Brinkley Authentic Skincare. The line, which debuted in March 2015 and has since been discontinued, offered a variety of anti-aging products, including her favorite method of all: exfoliation.
“In the beginning of my career I read an article about the reason that men always look five years younger than women is because they shave,” she shared in an interview with Elle, detailing why she launched her own exfoliator. She continued, “So I thought, well, I am just not going to let them have that advantage. … So I really wanted to have a great exfoliator that can be used daily, because most of the ones in the stores are meant to be used every couple of days, but I want to have that feeling every day.” Besides an exfoliator, Brinkley’s skincare line included anti-aging creams, skin serum, and face wash (via New Beauty).
Brinkley later launched a makeup line, Christie Brinkley Authentic Beauty, in 2018.
She’s been a vegetarian since she was 13
One might think that Christie Brinkley has only become cognizant of what she consumes since becoming a model, but, in reality, she’s been keen on focusing on what she eats (and doesn’t eat) since a young age. In an interview with Elle, the model revealed that she became a vegetarian around the age of 13, when she discovered a book on her mother’s nightstand that depicted the gruesome scenes within Chicago’s slaughterhouses. As a result of witnessing such heinous imagery and an acknowledgment of her love of animals, she chose then and there that she no longer wanted to eat meat.
As for what she does eat, she focuses on what makes her feel best. “The crunch of a salad feels pretty good,” she shared in an interview with Byrdie. “I also do love making my own soups — really clean, healthy, wonderful soups. In the wintertime, a great bowl of vegetable soup is really good. It warms me and makes me feel all homey and great. And salad on a cold day doesn’t feel as much like a meal.”
Christie Brinkley was married to Billy Joel
Christie Brinkley and singer Billy Joel met in the winter of 1982 while on vacation in St. Bart’s, he revealed to Rolling Stone. After meeting, Joel and Brinkley started dating and got married in 1985, before eventually getting divorced in 1994. According to People, the split was largely impacted by Brinkley’s desire to have a close-knit family — something Joel’s constant touring schedule apparently prevented — and she wanted to live on the West Coast, which was also at odds with her husband’s lifestyle.
While the famous couple, who share daughter Alexa Ray, have gone their separate ways, they remained friends long after the divorce. “Many years after our divorce, Billy would still come to my house for the Christmas singalong and play the piano, and all our friends would come over and sing Christmas carols,” Brinkley told Social Life Magazine in 2019. “Singalongs are one of my favorite things to do. And you know that’s what makes everybody happy.”
Brinkley and Billy Joel remain close friends. In 1994, to real estate developer Richard Taubman. Brinkley and Taubman met in 1994 when a mutual friend introduced them. He proposed to her in May 1994, although she and Billy Joel were still married.
Had Chuck Norris actually been married to his Total Gym co-spokesperson Christie Brinkley, as the internet likes to tell you, it would have been pretty awkward when his real wife, Gena, had a cameo in one of their exercise equipment infomercials in 2009, as reported by Female First. But, nope.
Christie has an estimated net worth of $100 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. She initially moved to Paris after graduating high school to study art. The Michigan native was making calls at a telephone office when a photographer approached her with a business opportunity.
