godley teacher fired
Ashley Ketcherside, 38, had been working as a sex educator at Godley Independent School District (ISD) when parents raised concerns about multiple businesses she claimed to own but did not provide further details about. Following these concerns, it was discovered that Ketcherside had two prostitution convictions in 2012 and 2016. Despite her past convictions, she was reportedly working as an escort under the name Lola Brea, with an active website showcasing explicit images.
While escort work, where clients pay for companionship, is legal in Texas, prostitution, which involves the exchange of sex for money, is not. Ketcherside’s current escort work was not deemed illegal, and there were no indications that she posed a threat to children. However, her involvement in the School Health Advisory Council, which recommends health education protocols for students, raised concerns among parents and community members.
Mary Lowe, from the nonprofit organization Families Engaged for Effective Education, expressed her belief that the community would not find it acceptable for Ketcherside’s history to be associated with the school district. She emphasized the need for better standards and parental awareness. Lowe’s tip-off about Ketcherside’s past led to the discovery of her escort activities after a school board trustee looked up her email address on LexisNexis and found a match with the contact information for ‘Lola Brea.’
