Blink-182 is back with its longtime lineup. The band announced the news with a cheeky video about them coming back — a good reminder that, though well into middle age, they still share a 12-year-old’s sense of humor.
Blink-182 Is Back With Tom DeLonge, New Music, and a Huge Tour
They’ll release a new song called “Edging” (of course) on October 14 and are set for a yearlong world tour beginning March 2023 with hardcore heroes Turnstile to open in the U.S. and Canada. The song and tour will be Tom DeLonge’s first time performing with Blink since 2015 after he left to focus on his other project Angels & Airwaves and his other other project of hunting aliens.
Blink-182 is an American rock band formed in Poway, California, in 1992. Their current lineup consists of bassist/vocalist Mark Hoppus, guitarist/vocalist Tom DeLonge, and drummer Travis Barker.
Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker released two albums, 2016’s California and 2019’s Nine, with Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba filling in for DeLonge. Since then, Barker has become one of the most in-demand producers of the pop-punk boom and a Kardashian in-law, while Hoppus has recovered from cancer. Hoppus told GQ last year that his cancer diagnosis prompted DeLonge, Barker, and him to start talking about the band again after DeLonge and Barker visited him at the same time. Thank God — we really needed them to see this through.

The international tour will feature openers Turnstile in North America, Rise Against in Australia, The Story So Far in United Kingdom and Europe and Wallows in Latin America. Tickets for Blink-182’s tour go on sale at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 17 at blink182.com.
In between come two Southern California dates: June 16 at Los Angeles’ Banc of California Stadium and June 20 at San Diego’s Pechanga Arena. The band will also perform two other California dates: June 22 at San Jose’s SAP Center and June 23 at Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center. All of the tour dates appear below.
Blink-182 formed in the suburbs of San Diego around guitarist/vocalist Tom DeLonge, bassist/vocalist Mark Hoppus, and drummer Scott Raynor.
The name Blink was thought up by Tom DeLonge when the band consisted of Tom, Mark, and their friend Scott Raynor (before Blink they called themselves Duck Tape). They were forced to change it because an Irish electronica artist was already using that name, so they added “182” to the end.
Blink-182 are getting the band back together. On Tuesday (Oct. 11) the pop-punk trio announced a reunion with former singer/guitarist Tom DeLonge for a 2023 global tour and upcoming single.
