Gran Turismo 7 is a 2022 sim racing video game developed by Polyphony Digital and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game is the eighth mainline installment in the Gran Turismo series. The game was announced on June 11, 2020 at the PlayStation 5 reveal event and was released on March 4, 2022 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, making it the first multi-console instalment in the series.

Will Gran Turismo 7 have used cars?

The Used Car dealership pavilion in Gran Turismo 7 is where you can purchase second-hand vehicles including those that are older than 2001. Some cars from the Brand Central, post-2001, will appear here, but all used cars have got miles placed upon them, and so will be cheaper here.

Not every single car will appear here, though. Rare and expensive older vehicles will be in the Legend cars pavilion.

WHEN DOES THE USED CAR DEALERSHIP STOCK CHANGE?

The Used Cars stock in Gran Turismo 7 updates daily, so you need to move quickly to pick up that sweet Suzuki Swift you’ve been eyeing up.

It won’t be gone forever though, as Used Cars appear on a rotational basis, with a number of cars appearing more than once since Gran Turismo 7 was released on 4th March 2022.

When Does the Used Car Dealership Refresh in Gran Turismo 7?

The used car dealership in Gran Turismo 7 refreshes once every day, at the time when Gran Turismo 7 first launched in your region, which should be midnight.

However, this is not a full refresh; the selection of cars available is not completely changed every day. Instead, some vehicles will remain available for several days until stock runs out. On the other hand, out-of-stock vehicles will cycle out with the refresh.

You can purchase from the selection of cars that are listed as available in stock or limited stock. When cars are listed as limited in stock, there are limited quantities available that may run out before the daily refresh. Once the dealership runs out of these cars, they will then be listed as out of stock.

Finally, cars that are out of stock or sold out can no longer be purchased. However, they will remain in the selection offered at the used car dealership until the next refresh. Only then will they be replaced with a new stock of cars at the used car dealership.

Upon refresh, the stock status of cars will be updated, with some new cars being made available to replace the models that are out of stock. Models that are in stock or limited in-stock may remain available after the refresh.

The used car dealership gives you the chance to purchase new cars for a reasonable price. However, many of these cars can be eventually unlocked for free as rewards for completing races and menu books. Given that you can’t sell your cars back for credits, it is advisable to be selective with your purchases from the used car dealership.

How does the Used Car Dealership Work in GT7

The used car dealership allows players to purchase the cars available in the stock. The cars that are not in stock, are listed as Sold out. While the cars that are about to be sold out are listed as Limited Stock. These limited stock cars can be listed as Sold out as the used car dealership refreshes. And, the cars with no tags can be listed as Limited Stock when the used car dealership refreshes. Upon another refresh, the used car dealership will replace these Sold out cars with the new stock of cars. That’s on all on the used car dealership in Gran Turismo 7.

Is Gran Turismo 7 playable on PS4?

As for the driving physics, Gran Turismo 7 is more of a sim racer than what most console gamers are used to. The developers went to obvious lengths to factor things like location-realistic wind physics into the handling model, just one example of the countless measures Polyphony Digital took to fine-tune the driving experience. Vehicles feel realistically weighty, and braking and handling take some adjustment before you really get in the flow of things.

This is also one of the areas where Gran Turismo 7 is an objectively better experience on PlayStation 5. Playing on PS4, you won’t notice exceeding the grip limit until you see it on screen and feel the rumble in your hands. With the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers of the PS5’s DualSense controller, we were able to feel when we were edging up to that limit and adjust accordingly. Adaptive triggers in the DualSense can also simulate different brake- and gas-pedal feel. The adaptive triggers are particularly effective with the day one patch; we recommend playing with the Strong setting that offers the most obvious variable resistance and better simulates traction conditions through the throttle.

On PlayStation 4, GT7 is a pretty game but far from a mind-blowing one. Lovingly modeled vehicles with lifelike lighting elements exist alongside rough-edged shadows and environments that, at times, look like they could be running on PS3. That said, the reworked replay system and its dynamic camera angles are properly impressive. Some of the shots look like track footage straight out of an episode of Top Gear.

How to Unlock New Cars in Gran Turismo 7?

For those who didn’t claim any kind of pre-order or special edition bonuses, the very first car that players will get their hands on will come courtesy of the used car dealership. They’ll need to buy one of three Japanese hatchbacks to start them on their journey, after which, they’ll be free to return to the dealership whenever they like in order to pad out their collection.

Though there are some pretty decent vehicles available here, players should be careful about what they buy from the used car dealership. A lot of the cars can be picked up later on for zero cost to the player, so big purchases really aren’t advised. The selection of cars available will update over time though, so it is worth checking in from time to time to see if there are any good limited-time deals.

Almost all of the cars in Gran Turismo 7 that are for sale at the used car dealership can be obtained this way eventually, though buying them can obviously save time. Of course, free is always better than paying for something on paper, but, for those who value their time more than some digital video game currency, it may actually be worth skipping a few of the more challenging races and just buying the cars instead (especially if entering said races would require them to spend Credits fixing up a car to race with).

Will Gran Turismo 7 have free roam?

Polyphony Digital does not provide players with the chance to free roam in Gran Turismo 7. Instead, the devs have stuck with the tried and tested formula that has made the franchise a staple of the racing genre and a mainstay name on the PlayStation.

Is Gran Turismo 7 a flop?

Gran Turismo 7 has become the lowest-rated Sony game on Metacritic, following a recent update that made it harder for players to unlock cars without paying real money. On Metacritic the user score for Gran Turismo 7 has dropped to just 2.0.

Is Gran Turismo 7 offline?

You can also only access cars from your garage in time trials. GT7’s quirky Music Rally is also playable offline, but with only six music tracks at launch, it won’t entertain you for very long. Frankly, there is no valid reason why GT7’s single-player content requires an online connection.
