Gun buddies have always been underrated in Valorant. Although they are the smallest detail of a weapon, they can provide some good closure and polish to weapons, especially when combined with good gun skins, like the Vandal. That’s why here we’ll take a look at the best gun buddies in Valorant!
Gun Buddies in Valorant

They can mostly be unlocked by completing Agent Contracts, earning through Battle Pass progression, or purchasing them from Collection Bundles. There are currently 233 different gun buddies.
The Best Gun Buddies in Valorant
SNOWBRO
The first gun buddy we’re going to take a look at is the Snowbro gun buddy. The Snowbro buddy came out in Valorant for a one-off Christmas event back in 2020. It was available for Valorant players to pick it up until the 29th of December by playing the featured Snowball Fight mode. This buddy works best when combined with the Snowfall skin collection. With its white fluffiness, the Snowbro gun buddy is what the Christmas spirit is all about in the game!
DIMENSIONAL FRAGMENT
One of the best parts about gun buddies in Valorant is that half of them are free to be obtained in the game. And there are some good ones that are free, such as the Dimensional Fragment gun buddy. You can get the Dimensional Fragment buddy by completing Chapter 2 Tier 6 of Yoru’s agent contract. This buddy works best when combined with Valorant skins that resemble blue colors, such as the Luxe or Smite skin collections. Being a free buddy, it’s one of the best out there!
EPILOGUE: DISCOTECH
Party and dance till you’re dead, and what better way to do that than with the Epilogue: Discotech gun buddy? Although there is another version of this buddy, it just lacks color, unlike its golden brother. The Epilogue: Discotech gun buddy works with a lot of weapon skins, especially ones that match its golden colors, such as the Valorant Champions 2021 and the Prime skin collections.
PAY RESPECTS AND ONE DIRECTION
Next up we have 2 gun buddies, and although they may be similar in nature and style, they are actually polar opposites! The One Direction and Pay Respects gun buddies in Valorant both represent keyboard keys, but the meaning behind them is kind of a meme. The W buddy means going forwards and winning, while the F buddy means paying respect to the fallen ones, which is a meme from Call of Duty.
Fist Bump
The Fist Bump gun buddy may just be a Riot Games’ logo design slapped on a gun, but the specialty behind this gun buddy lies in how it can be obtained. If you see someone with this buddy, know they are on the good side with the Riot Games employees, since the gun buddy can be obtained only if Riot Games sends it to you. And they only send it to popular streamers or to themselves! Because of this, Fist Bump has secured its place as one of the rarest gun buddies in Valorant.
Ancient Mysteries Revealed
This octopus buddy saw its rise in popularity because of the special interaction it has. For some context: there is a joke around the community that Omen may be an octopus. So when the Ancient Mysteries Revealed gun buddy was released, players found the easter egg that when you combine this buddy with Omen’s Contract Ghost skin, it changed its colors! And this skin buddy combo works really well too! This buddy was only obtainable through the Episode 2 Act 3 Battle Pass.
Outta This World
Sometimes a bit of silliness is all you need when top fragging! The Outta This World buddy does not work with most skins, but with the ones it does, oh boy doesn’t it radiate style! The best skin buddy combo for Outta This World has to be with the futuristic G.U.N skin bundle. This gun buddy was only obtainable for a limited amount of time through the Prime Gaming loot system.
How to obtain Gun Buddies in VALORANT?
The main source of obtaining gun buddies is through the battle pass system, where the devs add an assortment of unique gun buddies with every act. You can get a few of these as a part of end-of-tier bonuses for free or get several of them when you purchase the premium battle pass. The next way is by purchasing weapon bundles. When you buy the full collection, you get extra goodies such as a player card, banner, and a gun buddy.
The third way is also fully free, which is obtaining gun buddies from Agent contracts. You can unlock cool gun buddies related to their respective agents. This does require a bit of grinding, but these gun buddies can be obtained entirely for free by anyone. Lastly, you can get gun buddies from promotional or limited-time events. These can range from Amazon Prime gaming bonuses, rewards for watching streams, etc. So to summarize, here is how you can obtain gun buddies in VALORANT.
Battle pass rewards (Both free and premium)
