Ali-A skins in Fortnite: How to get it? What are the items?

YouTube content creator Alastair “Ali-A” Aiken is the next person to get a collection of skins and items in Fortnite thanks to the Icon Series.

According to an Epic Games blog post from yesterday (May 15), Aiken’s cosmetic set will become available in the item shop starting May 20 at 1 AM UK time.

There will be eight different outfit styles based off the collaboration with Aiken, as the YouTuber’s skin set comes with a default, elevated, matroix and ultra-armour matroix style, as seen below.

Four more outfits will also be available, with these having a more robotic look and coming in variants that either show Aiken’s face or have a full helmet instead. The outfits also include the Ali-Tech Backplate Back Bling, Ali-Tech Plasmawings, Ali-Tech Plasmawings Glider, Ali-Tech Staff Pickaxe and a series of gear cosmetics via The Blue A Wrap.

Starting on May 18, the zero build mode in Fortnite will also include the Ali A Cup, a duos event with the Ali A outfits on offer via the event before they come to the item shop. During the event’s three hour time window, players will get points depending on the number of eliminations and their overall team placement, with the points offering a series of cosmetic rewards.

An Ali A creative experience also went live with the announcement, and it is available until May 29. The experience includes a themed quest, which tasks players with eliminating 15 opponents and rewards them with the Ali A Was here Spray. The island code for the Ali A experience is 5135-8778-2901.

Several streamers and internet personalities, like Ninja and TheGrefg, have already made their way into Fortnite as unlockable skins and now Epic Games has announced that Alastair ‘Ali-A’ Aiken is the next to join the line-up.

Ali-A is an iconic “Fortnite” streamer, and the significant influencer has 17.5 million subscribers on YouTube, which is a lot for the platform already. It is only fitting that the content creator gets a skin as he showcases “Fortnite” in his many videos, including his weekly offers for the public.

How to get the Ali-A Fortnite skin

His skin will become available in the in-game shop from 1am BST on Friday, May 20 (that’s 5pm PT/8pm ET on Thursday, May 19). If you’re such a diehard fan that you can’t wait until then, you can unlock it early by scoring enough points in the Ali-A Cup on Wednesday, May 18.

Epic Games seem to be big fans, since his skin comes with seven alternate variants, giving him different kinds of armour and even multiple colour options. Not even Ninja had this much variety.

On top of that, there are several other related cosmetics like a themed pickaxe, glider, and wrap for your weapons. They’ll release alongside the skin and you can see them all via the official Fortnite website.

The Ali-A Experience has already begun on a separate Ali-A island (yes, he gets his own island too) and you’ll need to play some matches there to complete the Ali-A quest. It only involves eliminating 15 other players though, which will reward you with an Ali-A Was Here spray.

Lastly, from today until May 29, there will be a Piccadilly Circus takeover to help celebrate Ali-A’s inclusion. We’re not entirely sure what Piccadilly Circus has to do with him but no doubt it means something to fans.

Epic Games hasn’t specified exactly what the takeover entails, but if it’s anything like previous takeovers we imagine it will involve adding landmarks from Piccadilly Circus to the island.

The skin drop is extensive, as it holds different tiers to the many looks that one can get with Ali-A’s virtual look in the game. The Matroix, Ultra-Armor Matroix, Sapphire Paragon, Sapphire Paragon, Titanium Tac, and Titanium Tac styles bring the streamer’s different looks. It also brings special back bling, pickax, glider, emote, weapon skin, and more.

It is not only a skin that came with Ali-A’s induction but also a special offer about an underground arena that brings the public a chance to go on a carnage against other gamers.

Fortnite Ali-A Icon Series – Cosmetic set and items

Ali-A Fortnite skins come in eight different styles. They are – Default, Elevated, Matroix, Ultra-Armor Matroix Styles, Sapphire Paragon, Sapphire Paragon (Revealed), Titanium Tac, and Titanium Tac (Revealed.)

Except for the default skin, all the other Ali-A skins will have Rare Reaper, Uncommon Combat, Epic Insurgent, and Legendarian colour options – blue, green, and gold, respectively.

Other items included in the Ali- A Icon series set are Ali-Tech Backplate Back Bling, Ali-Tech Staff Pickaxe, Lil’ Diplodoculus Emote, and The Blue A Wrap. The Back Bling also has two alternative styles – Ali-Tech Plasmawings and Ali-Tech Plasmawings Glider.

The update also adds the Ali-A experience creative island, which players can check out right now. Fortnite update v20.40 will also add an Ali-A quest, which players can complete to unlock the Ali-A Was Here Spray.

Fortnite Ali-A Icon Series – Ali- A Cup release date and rules

The Ali-A cup in Fortnite will take place on 18th May 2022. Players will have to compete in the Zero Build Duos mode to get a chance to unlock the Ali-A Outfit and Ali-Tech Backplate Back Bling before they are made available in the item shop. Players who earn at least 8 points in the event will get the Ali-A Army Emoticon for free.

The rules for Ali-A Cup remain the same as the Chica Cup and pretty much every other Fortnite Icon series cup. Players can play up to 10 matches within the three hours time window to unlock the rewards.

To participate in the Ali-A Cup, players must have reached level 50 or above in the Season 3 Chapter 2 battle pass and have Two-factor authentication (2fa) enabled.
