Call of Duty: Vanguard All Operators Nationality
https://youtu.be/UOlV1Khqz3UCall of Duty: Vanguard operators give you a variety of characters to play in multiplayer. Each of these characters is unique and part of the Vanguard storyline. You will stumble upon their origin stories as you plunge through the campaign, but if you’re interested in taking one or more of them on multiplayer sessions, these are a couple steps to consider beforehand.
How do operators work in Call of Duty: Vanguard?
There is a total of 12 operators in Call of Duty: Vanguard. Though they all look distinct and carry over their own backstories, there isn’t much of an impact in terms of gameplay.
Essentially, in multiplayer, operators are pretty much skins. Their sole particularity comes down to operator XP: as you’re playing as an specific operator, you’ll gain XP to progress through a total of 20 rewards.
Some of them are general XP boosts, but there are also cosmetics such as skins, finishing moves, play of the game intros, and so on. Each also has a favourite weapon, giving them an XP boost during use – so if you have a weapon you want to power up quicker, then unlocking and using that Operator is a good plan.
How to unlock operators in Call of Duty: Vanguard?
Call of Duty: Vanguard’s Operator levels are not pointless ranks, however, as they allow players to unlock an array of cosmetic items to customize their favorite characters. Voice lines are one such option, with players able to assign lines to their characters when they capture a flag, get a headshot, or go on a killstreak in Call of Duty: Vanguard. Players are also able to leave this dialogue unassigned, making their Operator quiet if they do not want to hear them speak – a great solution to the overly talkative Operators some fans have complained about in the past.
Other unlocks include highlight intros, which play during the best teammate voting screen and Call of Duty: Vanguard’s play of the games. Having this extra customization is excellent, and it will likely only get better as the Seasons progress and more intros are unlocked. Operator-exclusive finishing moves are unlocked, too, giving players some special takedowns that are themed around their character’s fighting style. Previously, the battle pass and marketplace were the only ways to get fresh finishing moves, so having a few executions that are unlockable just by playing is a welcome change.
However, the star of the show is undoubtedly Call of Duty: Vanguard’s skins. While the Season 1 battle pass and the upcoming addition of the marketplace will add some fancier outfits to unlock, players have been able to get color swaps for each of their Operators just by playing. Further, getting all three Operators from one group to the max level unlocks a fancy gold outfit for each, and getting every Operator to level 20 gets players an even fancier chrome outfit for every single Operator.
New Operator System in Call of Duty: Vanguard
The new Operator system offers Operator XP. As you level up your Operator, you unlock new rewards for the Operator, including different variants of the base Operator skin, play of the game intro, quips, and finishing moves. You can check the unlocks by hovering over your Operator in the Operators menu and pressing ‘2’ on your keyboard, ‘R2’ on the PlayStation controller, or ‘RT’ on an Xbox controller.
Each Operator has four variants of their base skin, starting with two common skins, one rare, and finally an epic skin. The rare and epic skin visuals look similar for all the Operators. Here’s a look at the four different skins for Arthur. These unlock by simply playing the game as the Operator and leveling them up.
As mentioned before, the Operators do not provide any added gameplay advantage over other players. However, these Operators now give XP. Each Operator has a favorite weapon, and if you play the game with the selected Operator’s favorite weapon, you will get more XP for that weapon. You will also get double XP in general. This is particularly helpful if you’re looking to level up a specific weapon.
If you’re looking to level up your 3-Line Rifle, using Polina as your Operator is your best bet as that is her favorite weapon.
Who Are The Next Call of Duty: Vanguard Operators?
After we recently got Snoop Dogg as a playable operator, and even King Kong and Godzilla are playable, nothing surprises us anymore. However, nothing is known about new Season 4 operators or other new additions yet. As soon as we have news about upcoming operators, we will let you know here.
Who Are Call of Duty: Vanguard Operators Based On?
The first Vanguard Operators were based on real WWII heroes, but since launch, most new Operators have been original creations from Sledgehammer. Here are the famous war heroes that have appeared as Call of Duty: Vanguard Operators:
- Polina Petrova is based on Lyudmila Pavlichenko, nicknamed “Lady Death”, who had 309 confirmed kills as a sniper for the Red Army.
- Arthur Kingsley is based on Sergeant Sidney Cornell, an American soldier who parachuted behind enemy lines on D-Day, and fought tooth and nail from there until the end of the war.
- Lucas Riggs is based on Charles Upham, New Zealand’s greatest war hero. He was awarded the Victoria Cross twice during his service, and has become a legend for numerous heroic acts.
- Wade Jackson is based on Captain Vernon L. Michael, the hero of the Midway, who defended American servicemen from the air against the Japanese fleet.
Will New Call of Duty: Vanguard Operators Carry Over To Warzone?
Yes, all Vanguard Operators also appear in Warzone Pacific. However, you will not get the XP buff for using their favored weapons in Warzone, but Warzone isn’t the best way to grind weapon XP anyway, this is.

It claims to tell the story behind the formation of the first special forces unit, Special Operations Task Force 001 or Task Force Vanguard. However, that unit never existed. The four playable characters in the campaign are very, very, loosely based on soldiers and sailors that fought in World War II.
The answer is a bit of a mystery because factions have helped players in the previous CoD games with operators. However, developers may have considered a new feature more important than factions. One of the new features in Vanguard is Operator XP and favorite weapons.
