Elden Ring is an action role-playing game developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. To play Elden Ring multiplayer with friends, players will need to jump through a few hoops first, as coop has its own limitations to set up. the game online multiplayer has one player act as a “Host of Fingers,” and everybody else then joins their world as a phantom player, effectively assisting the host with whatever it is they’re doing.

To play with friends, you’ll both need internet connections on your consoles/computers (and whatever subscription service you need for online play).
Once you do so, you both then need to open the game menu and scroll down to “Multiplayer”.
Once there, select “Settings” and enter a Multiplayer Password. It can be anything, but as long as you and your friends both enter it correctly and it matches, that’s all that matters. These passwords effectively ensure that you’ll only see each other, not the millions of other players.

Even when the reward is not something a player can utilize, it both adds flavor to a location and its denizens while also giving the player a glimpse of the sheer amount of variety available to them. Discovering these locations is a joy of its own as well. Rather than filling the map with the usual array of question marks, the game’s detailed map naturally highlights distinct points of interest, letting players make the discoveries on their own.

What’s the Best Elden Ring Starting Class?

As we said briefly in the intro, the most important thing to understand about the game is that as you get deeper into the game, your choice of starting class will largely become irrelevant. You’ll be able to use Runes (that’s the new name for Souls, series fans) to level up and distribute stats as you wish, and you’ll pick up or be able to purchase a wide variety of equipment suitable for all play-styles from enemies, chests, and loot points out in the world.

With that said, your starting class will dominate the early hours of the game – and to that end, every one of the Origins in Elden Ring is viable for play, though some will make life more difficult than others and are therefore more suited for advanced players. For the most part, however, your choice of origin is about what sort of combat style you prefer.

In a sense, you can break down the ten different origin classes into three core groups: Melee, Magic, and Hybrids. For each of those three, there’s a basic all-rounder option and then more specialized, specific versions of each.
