Now, Obi-Wan Kenobi will be getting his own dedicated outfit and the Kenobi Cup, which starts on May 22.

Fans will remember that during the May 4 Star Wars event in Fortnite, Obi-Wan’s lightsaber was added to the game. This came along with a trailer that seemed to show his sleeve, and many fans and popular leakers were speculating that fans would see the skin release soon.

In addition to the skin, which looks similar to his character in the movies and comes with a full set of cosmetics, Epic announced the Obi-Wan Kenobi Cup in a tweet. Players will be able to purchase this skin starting on May 26 at 7pm CT, with the full set including a special Obi-Wan loading screen. Those who don’t want to buy the skin have the option to earn it in the official Obi-Wan Kenobi Cup that starts on May 22. Players who earn the required points will be rewarded with the Obi-Wan skin.

Players can also earn the Desert Essentials Back Bling, Obi-Wan’s Blade Pickaxe, Jedi Inceptor Glider, and Obi-Wan’s Message Emote.

As players get closer to the end of Chapter Three, season two, players are also eager to learn more about the supposed Vader skin coming next season. With this strong relationship between Star Wars and Fortnite, it makes sense that such a big character could be coming down the line.

When does Fortnite Obi-Wan Kenobi Cup take place?

This event is a chance for loopers to ‘Claim The High Ground’ and get their hands on the Jedi Master early. The recently announced Obi-Wan Kenobi Cup is set to take place this Sunday, May 22, across all regions. The winners will get a chance to win the Obi-Wan Kenobi skin and Desert Essentials Back Bling before the cosmetics hit the Fortnite Item Shop.

The rumors of his presence were true: the Obi-Wan KenobiTM Outfit will be available in the Fortnite Item Shop on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at 8 PM ET, alongside an Obi-Wan Back Bling, Pickaxe, Glider, and more!

In addition to this, the Star Wars mythic weapons — Lightsabers and E-11 Blaster Rifles — will be unvaulted. However, this will be only for the duration of the tournament, as the weapons will be vaulted after this week’s update.

To compete in the tournament, players need to be in the Open League in Arena. Since it is a Duos tournament and bets are on getting the high ground, builds will remain enabled, giving loopers an opportunity to become Obi-Wan for real.

HOW TO ENTER THE FORTNITE OBI-WAN KENOBI CUP

Epic Games is making it very easy for anyone to enter the new Obi-Wan Kenobi Fortnite Cup this weekend, which will run at different times depending on your region on Sunday, May 22. It should be noted that Epic Games has told fans to double-check this timing in their Fortnite event tabs in case things are scheduled to run slightly differently in their region.

For gamers in the UK, the Obi-Wan Kenobi Cup will open at around 8am EU Server time and close at 11am EU Server time. Those playing on North East servers will gain access at 1pm, with the tournament ending at 4pm on North East American servers.

Full details can be found in-game by heading over to the Fortnite Compete Tab and shifting through the various events until you reach the Obi-Wan Kenobi Cup. Epic Games has confirmed that this will be a Duos event and gamers will be able to secure the new Star Wars skin by getting top marks in their bracket.

Competitors can play up to ten matches within their region’s three-hour time window, and the specific event timing for each region can currently be found in the Compete tab in-game.

Players looking to get their hands on the Obi-Wan Kenobi skin and its other cosmetics early or just straight-up want to experience some competition can do so in the Fortnite Obi-Wan Kenobi Cup.
Running as a strictly Duos event, competitors can play up to ten matches within their region’s three-hour time window. Players will earn points based on a scoring system. Additionally, matches for the event will only count if the match begins before the event window closes.

Players looking to participate in the cup will need their account to be at least level 20 and have two-factor authentication enabled in order to be eligible to enter.

Once the event is done, players who placed in the required leaderboard placement will be awarded their Obi-Wan Kenobi goodies.
