Morpho Knight Sword is an Evolved Copy Ability based on Sword that appears in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Kirby wields a reddish sword akin to Morpho Knight which has the capability to fire crescent beams like Meta Knight Sword and temporarily grow in size substantially like Gigant Sword.
How do you get Morpho Knight sword?
Kirby’s dodge is upgraded as well to where Kirby will vanish completely for the entirety of the dodge’s duration. Certain attacks allow Kirby to recover a bit of health when he hits an enemy, which is represented by a glowing orb being released and flying into him. He can use the “Sukhavati Scale Wave” attack by guarding in the air and then attacking, which creates a protective wave around him, as well as the “Sukhavati Underworld Beast” attack by guarding and then attacking on the ground.
Unlike the other evolutions of the Sword ability, all attacks of Morpho Knight Sword are elementally fire attacks (except the Scale Wave), and thus will light lanterns and fuses and melt ice. In addition, Giga Sword Strike (Lv2 charge only) and Sword Dive (Gigant mode only) can pound stakes and nails (whereas Gigant Sword’s version can’t), and the tornadoes it summons can solve wind-related puzzles. These properties make Morpho Knight Sword similar to Master from Kirby and the Amazing Mirror.
This is not the first time weapons based on Morpho Knight have appeared. Previously in Super Kirby Clash, the inventory sold at Magolor’s Shoppe includes the “Morpho Doomblade” and “Morpho Doomhelm” for the Sword Hero role. However, this gear (like others in the Kirby Clash series) only boosts Kirby’s stats and doesn’t have any additional moves.

The Morpho Knight Sword is a Copy Ability in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Read on to learn about its attacks and evolutions, as well as to find out its blueprint location and available stages.
Sword abilities have a unique jab attack that you can use while sliding. You can can follow this up with a powerful combo by jumping in the air and pressing the attack button. The full controls for the combo are L/R + A + A + B.
The vanishing dodge is a unique dodge move that can only be used by the Morpho Knight Sword. While holding L/R, tilt your Left Control Stick and watch Kirby vanish. Kirby will reappear after traveling for a short distance in that direction. When Kirby comes in contact with an enemy as he reappears, he also deals damage.
By holding L/R and B, you can charge your phantom attack. Let go of B to summon two phantoms that will follow Kirby for a short period of time. When Kirby encounters an enemy, they will rush towards that enemy and deal damage.
If you jump and hold L/R and B at the same time, you can charge your screech attack. Let go of B to unleash your screech attack and damage enemies nearby with a load roar.
When using Morpho Knight Sword at full health, you can unleash an air slash each time you swing your sword, which can damage enemies at long-range. However, once you take damage, the effect will no longer be available until you heal up.
Morpho Knight Sword can recover some of Kirby’s health each time he successfully uses a full combo against an enemy. This includes the regular Combo Attack and the Slide Jump Combo.
Tips on how to defeat Morpho Knight
It’s recommended you go into this fight with a Maxim Tomato, just to be sure you can pull through to the end. But if not, you’ll need to give this boss some distance to get used to how it moves and how best to avoid each of Morpho Knight’s attacks.
Morpho Knight blinks around, disappearing and reappearing, and using its blade to slice fast. Time your hits as you watch for any opening you can get. It doesn’t stay in one place for long, so try to anticipate where it’ll be for your next hit.
Jump and hover over the waves of energy, the wall of fire, and the fire cyclones he’ll throw your way. These attacks are avoidable, and you can easily run around the large violet Soul Forgo heads that will float toward you.
Maintain your distance with Morpho Knight in phase two
Phase two begins as Morpho Knight brings two huge flaming swords down across the stage. Avoid these first two strikes and watch out for the third, which splits and moves. Hover and move to a side for the third strike.
Another of Morpho Knight’s attacks will warp Kirby’s reality if you touch the energy waves close to its body. You’ll have to deal with inverted-movement directions and screen rotation for a bit, so just try to avoid this altogether by keeping your distance.
Morpho Knight follows some fixed attack patterns:
- Continuous slashes, sometimes following up with a singular charged power slash.
- Mid-range shockwave slash attacks.
- Giant sword summon that use various multiple slashes.
- Fire slash with flaming twisters.
- Distortion waves created by flapping his wings.
- Copy Soul Forgo summon.
- Twin giant flame sword summons that leave lingering fire damage upon attack.
Since he is the secret final boss, dodging these attacks and fighting back might not be easy for everyone. For visual tips and cues on defeating Morpho Knight, (skip to 5:50 for the Morpho Knight battle):
After players finally defeat Morpho Knight, Kirby receives the blueprints for Morpho Knight Sword as a reward, allowing him to evolve his Sword ability even further.
All of these attacks leave plenty of stars for normal Kirby to inhale and inflict a good, fixed amount of damage. But we find that his Storm Tornado Copy Ability, upgraded as far as you can get it, is especially effective during these battles. Kirby is virtually invincible as a tornado, which can cover a lot of ground very fast, and its lightning pulses can do nice residual damage.
Morpho Knight was originally a boss for the canceled title Kirby for Nintendo GameCube.
While the English localization of Star Allies was unclear whether or not Morpho Knight is the butterfly itself or a fusion between it and Galacta Knight, the Japanese version and its appearance in Kirby and the Forgotten Land clarifies that Morpho Knight is the butterfly itself.
Butterflies are a common sight in the Kirby series, but one particular red-and-orange butterfly is a recurring character through the series, which is typically seen in cutscenes.
Shigeru Miyamoto stated that “Kirby” was chosen in honor of American lawyer John Kirby, who defended Nintendo in the Universal City Studios, Inc. v. Nintendo Co., Ltd. case in 1984 and that the guttural-sounding name contrasted amusingly with the character’s cute appearance.
