Candy is arguably the most important resource in Pokémon Go, enabling you to Power Up and evolve your Pokémon and thus strengthen them in the process.
It combines with Stardust to form arguably the central mechanic in the game outside of finding and catching Pokémon themselves, but thankfully, there’s many ways to get your hands on it, including when using the new Rare Candy item.
What Is Candy In Pokémon GO?
Candy is a collectible item in Pokémon GO that allows you to evolve Pokémon. Each different Pokémon family has its own Candy type, with the name usually derivative of the lowest evolution, but that isn’t always the case. For example, Charizard uses Charmander Candy, while Raichu uses Pikachu Candy rather than Pichu Candy.
Each evolution typically costs more Candy than the previous, with the Candy cost ranging from 12 to 400, depending on the evolution.
THE *BEST* METHODS TO FARM GUARANTEED XL CANDY EASILY In Pokemon GO!
The most obvious way to get lots of candies for the Pokemon you want to evolve is by catching the type of Pokemon you want to see evolve. One method of finding lots of Pokemon that you would like to evolve is through Pokemon nests. Pokemon nests are areas where certain Pokemon are more likely to spawn. You can find Pokemon nests for your favorite Pokemon in the Reddit or Google Maps Pokemon GO communities.
One other quick method that not only gets you Candy but helps ease the number of Pokemon in your system is through transferring the Pokemon you want to evolve. If you have a Charmander with bad Individual Values (IVs) and have a different Charmander you want to evolve, just transfer out the worse of the two to get some Charmander Candies back for evolution.
Another option to get Candy in Pokemon GO is by using berries during encounters with wild Pokemon. After you have sought out the Pokemon you want to evolve, find more in those Pokemon nests from earlier and while in the wild encounter, use a Pinap Berry to double the amount of Candy you will get from catching the Pokemon. Do this as often as you can to get Candies fast for the Pokemon you want to see evolve.
Hatching Eggs earns you loads of Candy each time you do so. If you hatch a 2km Egg, you will get 10 Candy for that Pokemon. If you hatch a 5km Egg, you will get 20 Candy. And if you hatch a 10km Egg, you will get a whopping 30 Candy for that Pokemon.
In this video we take a look at the best way to help you farm Guaranteed XL candy after the most recent update added a load of new ways we can access them here in Pokémon GO including:
Something every Pokemon GO player must do is learn to transfer multiple Pokemon of the same species. You will not be able to keep every Pokemon you ever catch, like any Pokemon Game, so it only makes sense to transfer multiples (unless they are both at extremely high levels and have great ivs). Usually, it is best to keep one of each species of Pokemon, the one with the better Individual Stats.
After transferring the Pokemon you feel is the worst among the two (or more), you will be given an additional Pokemon Candy for that given Pokemon species from Professor Willow. This is why you should keep catching the same type of Pokemon even after transferring Pokemon of the same species, what is often called Farming Candy in Pokemon GO. (If you plan on Farming XP by evolving a number of the same species with a Lucky Egg, then it is definitely okay to keep multiple of the same species. Just make sure you only keep the number of Pokemon of a given species that you have enough Candy to evolve, allowing you to not fill up unnecessary space in your Storage.) Rare Candies, obtain by defeating Raid Battles, can also be used to farm a certain Pokemon Candy, depending on how many of them you actually have.
farming is basically catching the same Pokemon over and over again and immediately transferring them, allowing a trainer to gain four Pokemon Candy for that species for every capture (even more if the players uses a Pinap Berry, as well as if the Pokemon is either a 2nd Stage or 3rd Stage Evolution of that given Evolution Chain). This method provides trainer the quickest way to evolve a Pokemon Species, and thus a faster way to accomplishing the ultimate goals of completing the Pokedex and reaching Level 40.
How to get Candy from hatching Eggs in Pokémon Go
The alternative means of getting Candy is through Eggs. You’ll get a considerable amount of Candy from hatching eggs, however the difficulty is that actually hatching the relevant Pokémon is essentially a guessing game. Our Egg-hatching guide and Egg chart can help you narrow it down and hatch those Eggs as quickly as possible at least, but it’s still an inelegant solution overall.
Our Electabuzz came with a pretty measly 16 Candy considering it was hatched from a 10km Egg.
That being said, it’s often your primary means of evolving or powering up Pokémon found from 10km Eggs, such as Snorlax, as the Candy awarded for hatching the Egg is normally pretty significant. The estimated amounts of Candy you’ll get from hatching Eggs – based purely on anecdotal evidence at this point – is as follows:
2km Egg – Approximately 10 Candy
5km Egg – Approximately 20 Candy
10km Egg – Approximately 30 Candy

Where can I buy rare candy?
After clearing the game and unlocking the Wyndon Battle Tower, you will be able to purchase rare candies for 20 BP each at the Hammerlocke BP shop. TMs, bottle caps, mints, and held items can also be bought there.
But all gifts can contain rare candy when opened during the event, and you can open up to 30 of them. That’s a big win, so get as many gifts as you can.
How do you get 400 Meltan candies? To evolve it, you will need 400 Meltan Candies. Just as with the Candies you collect for other Pokémon, you’ll be able to get Meltan Candies by doing things like catching Meltan, sending it to Professor Willow, or having Meltan travel around with you as your Buddy Pokémon GO.
Getting more Candy comes down to simply catching as many Pokémon as possible. Capturing a wild Pokémon can reward you with 3, 5 or 10 Candies, depending on what stage of evolution it is. With the Pinap Berry, you can double this number and earn up to a whopping 20 Candies in one capture.
Trading. Trading a Pokémon can randomly give a single XL Candy, either to one Trainer, or both. If one Trainer trading is under level 40, the level 40+ Trainer can still gain an XL Candy, but the Trainer below level 40 cannot. Early research suggests 1 in 10 trades gives XL Candy.
To use the Code: 1. Type Rare Candy in the description and enter the Rare Candy code 82025840 0044.
