A new Lost Ark roadmap details many of the new gameplay additions and refinements coming in May. Throughout the month of May, players can expect to see some new features including a new Legion Raid, Valtan, and a new Guardian Raid, Deskaluda.
Lost Ark May roadmap details new Legion Raid, Valtan
The biggest new content coming to Lost Ark in May is the new Legion Raid, Valtan. Valtan is the start of a new type of Raid called “Legion Raids,” which is a highly difficult Raid that requires tons of cooperation between you and your party. Valtan will come in two modes of difficulty: Normal Mode and Hard Mode. You need to be Item Level 1415 to participate in Normal Mode and Item Level 1445 to participate in Hard Mode.
A new Guardian Raid will also release for players who hit Item Level 1415. Deskaluda is the newest Guardian Raid following Velganos. The release of Valtan and Deskaluda also introduces a new rarity of accessories known as “Relic Accessories,” which will see an increase in power compared to Legendary-tier gear.
Of course, the Destroyer class is one of the highlights of this update as well, bringing players a brand new character to mess around with. The Destroyer is coming in his reworked state from the Korean server, meaning players will mostly go in the blind while building this new character. (This also means most guides about the Destroyer are probably outdated!)
Other additions will include a new island, Wild Wings Island, new South Vern activities (Chaos Line hard mode, new Field Boss, South Vern level Chaos Gates, Chaos Dungeons, and Ghost Ship), new Guild Activities, a new way to equip skins, and some balance tuning and quality of life updates.
Lost ark Lance master Legion raid Valtan
Valtan will introduce the first Legion Raid into the western version of Lost Ark. Legion Raids are difficult team-based activities that require teamwork to understand and execute the strategy necessary to counter each Legion Commander’s unique characteristics, abilities, and mechanics. As Legion Raids are challenging and take time, there are gates (or checkpoints) that will save player’s progress as they advance through the Raid. Valtan is an eight-player Legion raid, has 2 gates, and introduces a swathe of new mechanics. Players will need to be item level 1415 to attempt normal difficulty, and 1445 for hard. The Valtan Legion Raid will also introduce a new rarity for gear – “Relic”. Relic gear can be crafted from materials earned in the raid. It provides more impactful armor and weapon bonuses, alongside bigger stat bonuses and more engraving nodes on accessories.
Guardians are powerful entities that can tip the scales toward good or evil. A new Guardian will arise and must be vanquished before they usher in an age of darkness. Deskaluda will require an item level of 1415 to attempt. As with the other Guardian Raids, you can attempt to vanquish Deskaluda alone, with a party, or matchmake with up to three other heroes. Similar to the rewards in the Valtan Legion Raid, players will also have a chance to earn Relic quality accessories from defeating Deskaluda.

Lost Ark – Destroyer Adavance Class
We’ve talked about the cataclysmic impact that Warriors have on the battlefield, but nothing embodies this better than the hammer-wielding Destroyer. Armed with a variety of skills centered around charging into the heart of the fray, their hammer attacks are so catastrophically crushing that Destroyers can bend gravity to their will— slowing, launching, pushing and pulling enemies— whatever it takes to utterly, beyond a shadow of a doubt, destroy them. Dealing massive stagger damage, the Destroyer is a welcome addition to any party attempting to vanquish powerful foes. The Destroyer will join the Berserker, Paladin, and Gunlancer as the fourth Warrior Advanced Class.

Legion Raids are difficult team-based activities that require teamwork to understand and enact the strategy necessary to counter each Legion Commander’s unique characteristics, abilities, and mechanics.
Valtan is an eight-player Legion raid and introduces a swathe of new mechanics. Players will need to be item level 1415 to complete it on easy mode, or 1445 for the hard mode option.
The recommended engravings are either the 333 or 3331, from the usual optimal engravings, depending on your class. And, while the Valtan raid can be completed with lesser engravings, as this is the first Legion raid, with so many new mechanics and the time it will take to complete it, it’s better to give yourself an edge.
Lost Ark – Deskaluda
The same goes for your gems, which should be at level 5 for your primary abilities, as well as level 3 tripods, as level 4 ones, while useful, are not worth the effort for the difference they make, at this point in the game, if you don’t have them already.
The main tip for players, though, is the Purify rune, which is not familiar to a lot of players. It offers a 70% to cleanse a debuff effect, which will prove invaluable in the slog that is a Legion Raid.
Valtan Legion Raid release date
The release date of Lost Ark‘s first Legion Raid is still uncertain. It was announced to be introduced during May in the latest roadmap, but Amazon Games has revealed that there was a possibility to push back the release date depending on the average player base progression in the game, so it’s still subject to change.
“Our data has suggested that a big enough portion of our active players will reach, or be close to reaching, the item levels needed to participate in higher-level end-game content by May,” it said.
Provided the situation doesn’t change before next month, the Legion Raid will likely be introduced in May, although it’s still unclear if it’ll be around the beginning, middle, or end of the month.
Legion Raids are difficult team-based activities that require teamwork to understand and execute the strategy necessary to counter each Legion Commander’s unique characteristics, abilities, and mechanics.
Legion Raids are 4-8 man weekly content which reward the best items and significant amount of gold each week for up to 6 characters a week.
Aside from being level 50 in Lost Ark, players will need to complete the Guardian Raid Qualification Certificate quest in order to unlock the ability to participate in these special raids.
The max level cap in Lost Ark is 60. It was 55 in the closed beta, but it has increased for the full launch. While 60 is the maximum you can reach, you are rewarded with additional skill points for every level you earn after 50. As for your Account, the maximum level you can reach is now 250.
