What Is Sniper Elite 5? When is the release date and system requirement?

Shooter games come around pretty often, with Call of Duty coming around yearly, and some great gems like Doom Eternal popping up here and there. However, a perennial contender has always been Sniper Elite, and with the upcoming release of Sniper Elite 5, we’re about to have another tactical shooter in our midst.

What Is Sniper Elite 5?

Sniper Elite is a 3rd-person tactical shooter created and usually released by Rebellion Developments. Unlike other shooters in the genre, the game series encourages players to do as a sniper does. This means they have to be invisible to enemies through the use of stealth, to keep a fair amount of distance from soldiers. And lastly, to be precise on their shots against important enemy personnel.

This is also combined with a gory death camera that shows exactly how the enemy dies. It’s honestly pretty cool to see the way the bullets hit their bodies and evacuate their lives from it. Overall, a pretty good series of games that will hopefully have a great sequel in Sniper Elite 5.

Overall, the Sniper Elite series is one of the best 3rd person games that put a lot of emphasis on sniping enemies. Here’s hoping that Sniper Elite 5 will live up to the hype.

Sniper Elite 5 is a 3rd Person Action-Adventure Shooter created by and published by Rebellion. The game is the 5th entry to the Sniper Elite series, a beloved franchise of 3rd person shooting games with realistic sniping. It’s slated to release on the 26th of May this year for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, and PC.

Sniper Elite 5 will release on Xbox Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 4 & 5, Epic Games Store, Steam, and Windows Store in 2022.

SNIPER ELITE 5 – INVASION MODE
A whole new dimension to the game’s intense drama and add increased diversity to the tactics that players will have to employ in order to complete their mission.

The invading Axis Sniper will have the sole aim to eliminate the player while the Allied Sniper will gain an extra objective: take out the invader. Invasion Mode will also be available in co-operative play increasing the challenge for the Axis invader as they now have two Allies to track down, but offering greater rewards.

Invasion Mode will enable some unique skills for both players. The Axis invader can use of the AI Axis forces to help locate the Allied player. Tagging an Axis soldier will enable ‘Eagle Eyes’ which means that if that soldier spots the Allied Sniper then their last known location will be displayed on the map.

The Axis Sniper can also instruct nearby soldiers to ‘Stay Sharp’, increasing their awareness. For the Allied Sniper, each level has invasion phones scattered around the map which the player can use to discover the last known location of their opponent. But beware, as not only can these phones be booby trapped, but overuse will raise suspicions and reveal the player’s location.

Successful Axis Snipers will be rewarded with weapons, items and skin unlocks while Allied Snipers can earn weapon and character skins by killing their opponent. You will also be awarded with additional XP for having Invasion Mode enabled.

As part of a covert US Rangers operation to weaken the Atlantikwall fortifications along the coast of Brittany, Karl makes contact with the French Resistance. Soon they uncover a secret Nazi project that threatens to end the war before the Allies can even invade Europe: Operation Kraken. It’s Karl’s mission to take out the high-ranking Nazi officers and end Operation Kraken once and for all.

Based upon real world locations from France in 1944 the new game maps are the largest and most immersive in the franchise’s history with the new traversal system offering players an even greater sandbox of options when it comes to taking out their targets. You can even invite a friend to help you on your mission with enhanced co-operative gameplay options.

Sniper Elite 5 continues the franchise’s unparalleled tactical sniping experience complete with incredible ballistics and enhanced kill cam taking the genre-defining feature to the next level. New customisation options allow you to adjust your rifle, other weapons and ammo to suit the mission and your play style.

The new CGI trailer was created by Rebellion VFX. Based at Rebellion Film Studios in Didcot, Rebellion VFX has been formed from industry leading visual effects supervisors, artists and developers.

 

Release date and price Sniper Elite 5

Sniper Elite 5 is releasing on May 26th, and if you’re after a physical copy, then your options are limited to PlayStation and Xbox only, but there are a few different bundles available, depending on the extras you’re wanting.

The standard edition retails at $59.99 on PlayStation, Xbox, and the Windows Store, but is $10 cheaper if you grab it from the Rebellion Shop or Steam. Buying the PC version from the Rebellion Shop also bags you a digital graphic novel.

The Deluxe Edition is $89.99 for PlayStation, Xbox, and Windows Store, and $79.99 on the Rebellion shop and Steam, and comes with the game’s season pass included, as well as the digital graphic novel if you get the game from the Rebellion Shop.

The Rebellion Shop also has a couple of extra exclusive bundles if you’re looking to play on PC. The Cadet Bundle comes with a Deluxe Edition Steam code, exclusive shirt, graphic novel, and sticker for $99.99. For $129.99 you can grab the Marksman Bundle which comes with the Deluxe Edition for PC, a bomber jacket, graphic novel, enamel mug, and sticker.

Platforms of Sniper Elite 5 

Sniper Elite 5 will be coming to pretty much every home console, including PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Series S, and Series X, and will be available on Steam and the Microsoft Store. If you are an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, then the standard edition of the game will be coming to the service on day one, so enjoy. Rebellion has revealed that there are no concrete plans to bring the game to the Nintendo Switch just yet, but Sniper Elite 4 did eventually make the jump, so fingers crossed its sequel will do the same.

Compared to previous entries, this is a jump when it comes to requirements. It’s obvious that while the core gameplay will be similar, the game looks far more visually impressive than Sniper Elite 4.
