Sonic Origins Remasters Classic Games, Gets June 23 Release Date

The classic Sega game collection includes remastered versions of the original Sonic, Sonic 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Sonic CD.

Sonic fans will be able to revisit remastered versions of the blue hedgehog’s classic ’90s adventures on June 23, when Sonic Origins launches on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X and Series S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

The collection’s enhanced visuals and new features were revealed in a trailer Wednesday.

The remastered game collection includes the original Sonic, Sonic 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Sonic CD games.

The first three originally came out on the Sega Genesis from 1991 to 1994, while Sonic CD hit the Sega CD in 1993.

Sonic’s original adventures are coming back this summer

A pre-order bonus will net players 100 Medallion Bonus, Mirror Mode Unlocked, and Letter Box visuals, and a more expensive Digital Deluxe Edition for $44.99 will also add Difficult Missions, Letter Box, Characters in Main Menu, Island Camera on Main Menu, Character Animation in Music Playback, and Exclusive Tracks from the Mega Drive Sonic games.

The original Sonic games are 2D side-scrolling platformers where players speed their way towards the end of each level. These games are where players first met Sonic as he blasted through locations like Green Hill Zone and the Chemical Plant.

Sonic Generations is a 2011 platform game

Sonic Generations developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo 3DS and Windows.

Produced in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the Sonic the Hedgehog series, the game follows Sonic and his sidekick Tails as they form an alliance with their past selves.
