Red Bull Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen continues to demonstrate his unwavering determination. On Sunday, Verstappen secured yet another victory at the F1 British Grand Prix, making it his sixth consecutive win this season and his second triumph at Silverstone.
Lando Norris of McLaren and Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes claimed second and third places, respectively. This marked a significant moment, as it was the first time since 1999 that two British drivers stood on the podium at their home race.
Verstappen’s latest triumph further solidifies his position in the drivers’ championship, with a commanding lead of 255 points. Additionally, Red Bull’s lead in the constructors’ championship has extended to 411 points. Having emerged victorious in nine of the last 11 Grands Prix, the Dutch driver now has the opportunity to match the second-longest winning streak in F1 history at the upcoming Hungarian Grand Prix on July 23.
“Of course, very happy that we won again,” Verstappen said during his post-race broadcast interview. “I mean, 11 wins in a row for the team, I think that’s pretty incredible, but it wasn’t straightforward today. I was doing a bit of drifting on Thursday with marketing, and it felt like I was doing that also in the start, which wasn’t very good – it was very bad. We’ll look into that, because I think the last few starts were actually a lot better, and today wasn’t that great.
“But at least it made it a bit more exciting, I had to push for it. Lando didn’t really put up a fight, he was very nice to me, but then he actually came back again in the DRS, so he had a lot of pace today – he did very well today.”
F1 British Grand Prix details
June was a challenging month for McLaren’s Lando Norris, experienced disappointing finishes in the Spanish Grand Prix, where he placed 17th, and the Canadian Grand Prix, finishing 13th.
However, McLaren made significant improvements to their car, which positively impacted the performance of the Belgian-British driver. Norris achieved his best results of the season following these upgrades.
After securing a fourth-place finish in Austria the previous week, he continued his impressive form with a second-place finish on Sunday. In a hard-fought battle, Norris successfully held off Lewis Hamilton, earning praise from the fans who passionately chanted his name during his post-race interview.
“It’s pretty amazing, pretty insane,” Norris said. “It was an amazing fight with Lewis, to hold him off. I made a few too many mistakes, maybe, but I did what I could. I brought the fight to Max for as long as possible. It’s a long, lonely race when you’re just in the middle, but it’s amazing.”
Lewis Hamilton Gets on The Podium For Mercedes
Lewis Hamilton rebounded from a disappointing eighth-place finish at the Austrian Grand Prix with a strong performance on Sunday. The Mercedes driver secured a third-place finish, marking his third top-three finish in the last four races.

With both drivers performing well, Mercedes moved up to second place in the constructors championship, accumulating a total of 203 points. In the individual standings, Hamilton currently holds the fourth position with 121 points, while Russell is close behind in sixth place with 82 points.
