nxbrew
NXBrew is an app that makes it easy for home brewers, both veterans and newcomers alike, to create, organize, share, and collaborate on beer recipes. The following is a short guide to getting started with nxbrew.
Getting Started
NXBrew offers both a web app and mobile apps (iOS and Android). You can create an account on any of these and your recipes, notes, and activity will sync across devices.
Creating Recipes
Once logged in, you can easily create new recipes. NXBrew has a structured recipe form with fields for:
• Style – Beer style from BJCP guidelines, e.g. IPA, Stout
• Name – The name of your recipe
• Batch size – In gallons or liters
• Grains – List of grains and amounts by weight
• Hops – List of hop additions by name, amount, and timing
• Yeast – Yeast strain used
You can also add notes, photos, and attachments to your recipes.
Organizing Recipes
Recipes are organized by “brewbooks” which act as notebooks or folders. You can create multiple brewbooks for different types of recipes, projects, or anything else that makes sense for your workflow.
Sharing and Collaboration
Recipes can be made public, allowing other nxbrew users to view, clone, and collaborate. If your recipe is public, anyone can suggest changes that you can approve or reject. This makes nxbrew a great resource for getting feedback and inspiration from the community.
That’s the basics of what nxbrew has to offer home brewers. Give it a try and start capturing your recipes and notes in an organized, structured, and shareable way!
