The PCGameBenchmark database has 438 Dell gaming laptops, all reviewed and scored. We will help you find the top Dell gaming laptops at low prices and compare gaming laptops with a single rating. To pick good gaming laptops, our scores are based on the combination of graphics card, CPU and RAM – and how many PC games they will run. That is how we classify which is the best.
Are Dell laptops good for gaming?
The G Series laptops come with NVIDIA 1000 series graphics cards, ranging from a GTX 1650 to GTX 1660Ti. Whilst these graphics cards are a few years old, they will be sufficient for the majority of AAA games, particularly considering that the screens on the G series laptops are only 1080p. Being a Dell laptop, they get the renowned reliability and customer support that Dell is known for. You’ll see hundreds of Dell laptops featured here… some of which have pretty low scores, so chose carefully.
The Best Dell Gaming Laptops
Dell G7
Annihilate the competition with this refurbished Dell G7 gaming laptop. The 256GB SSD provides easy boots and ample storage, while the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card delivers stutter-free gameplay. Boasting an Intel Core i7 processor and 8GB of RAM, this 15.6-inch Dell G7 gaming laptop supports seamless multitasking, and an HD webcam offers smooth in-game chats.
Dell – G15
Powerful performance: Intel® Core™ i7 processors allow you to do more streaming, gaming, and adventuring without lag time. Improved thermals: Now featuring an improved thermal design with copper piping and 4 heat-dispersing vents. Great graphics: Stunning NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX graphics make your gameplay dazzle.
Alienware X17
One of the best designed laptops money can buy, the Alienware X17 is both a beautiful and powerful piece of kit. This 17-inch gaming laptop avoids the power limitations of the Alienware X15, meaning that despite being a thin machine, it still hits hard, churning out some impressive FPS in-game. The display is top notch, it has a mechanical keyboard, great ports and features, and the battery life isn’t bad either.
Dell G15 5515
This Dell G15 gaming laptop not only has one of the most powerful RTX 3060 graphics cards you’ll find in a laptop, meaning great FPS performance in-game, it surprisingly also has the best battery life you’re likely to see in such a machine. Add to this a nice looking display and build quality and it’s a great mid-range choice for gamers, providing you can deal with the slow stock RAM.
Alienware Area 51m R2
The Alienware Area 51m r2 was Dell’s top of the line gaming laptop until the X17 came out in 2021, and it’s still an impressive piece of kit that you can find on sale for a tempting price. Unlike the X17 it has a numpad keyboard and a better quality of speakers. The RTX 2080 SUPER paired with Intel Core i9 10900K CPU is still a powerful combination and the 300Hz display is also great in terms of both color replication and response time.
Dell G3 15
This Dell G3 15 is a lower price point entry into the Dell gaming laptop range. It has good battery life for a gaming laptop and a fairly fast 144Hz display, plus the Nvidia RTX 2060 / GTX 1660 Ti options manage decently on less demanding games or at lower settings. There are better laptops out there for the same price from other brands, but if you can pick one up on offer it could be worth your while
Hands down, the Alienware Area-51m is a stunner of a gaming laptop, with a beautiful yet unique chassis and a comfortable keyboard to complement it. But it goes beyond looks; it’s also by far the most powerful gaming laptop on the market right now (and obviously, one of the best Dell laptops).
You can scroll through an enticing range of Dell gaming laptops online. Some of the popular gaming laptops from Dell include the Dell 5000 Core i7 7th Gen, Dell Inspiron 7000 Core i7 7th Gen and the Dell Inspiron Core i7 7th Gen laptops.
Best answer: Dell’s Inspiron 15 7000 isn’t good for PC gaming due to the rather underwhelming NVIDIA MX130 GPU. You’ll struggle to enjoy most modern games at 1080p on anything but bare minimum settings. You’ll need to choose another Dell (G3 15 series) if you want to do some gaming.
Dell’s 14-inch laptop shines with decent or even good battery life, an NVMe SSD and a powerful Ice Lake Core i7 processor. The dedicated GeForce MX230 graphics chip is only able to access its performance potential for a short amount of time due to thermal constraints. Thus, it is not really suitable for gaming.
