Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is a game with a lot of moving parts. As such, the game is in a constant state of flux, with the developers – Valve – needing to push out updates every couple of weeks to keep the game balanced. Here we talk about CS:GO patch notes.
CS:GO patch notes: what’s new in the latest update?
In recent months, Valve’s approach to updates is to keep them coming little and often. So, the CS:GO patch notes might not be as meaty as other games you play. That might be disappointing to hear, but you’ll find that these updates are full of small fixes that keep the game – and its players – in check.
So, if you’re looking to play one of the best competitive FPS games out there and climb up the CS:GO ranks, you’re going to want to stay on top of the latest changes. Here’s the last couple of CS:GO patch notes for you to look at.
CS:GO PATCH NOTES 17/2/2022
This update focuses on controller support for CS:GO on Steam and minor UI changes. Here’s what’s changed:
Steam Input / Controller
Various default binding changes for controllers only. Quick Buy radial menus are triggered with the D-Pad and Bumper Buttons while the BuyZoneLayer is active.
Simplified set of Radial Action Override Layers. By default, the right stick is used to control the radial. If XYAB are bound to a radial button, the left stick is used instead.
Fixes for DeathMatch BuyZoneLayer.
Console/Quick Buy Radial menus match the same layout of the conventional Buy menu.
Danger Zone Controller Support: Fixed Spawn Menu Controls. Fixed Drone strafing.
Known issue: Button binds in Action Override Layers are not displayed in in-line glyphs.
Note to controller users: Please be sure to re-apply default settings from the Controller Configuration menu in the Steam Overlay.
UI radial_quickinventory.txt: added “ROTATION_OFFSET” field, which will rotate the entire radial by the given number of degrees.
Quick Inventory and Quick Grenade Radial: Fix for missing items (Bump Mines, Shields, etc.) not displaying.
Various Inline Button Glyph fixes (ongoing).
Note to “radial_quickinventory.txt” users: you can set “cl_quickinventory_filename” to point to a different file name in the same directory.
Misc
Added server convar sv_max_allowed_developer that determines highest developer value for attached clients.
getpos and getpos_exact are now cheat protected.

BLAST bans Russian CS:GO teams from events following Ukraine conflict
Esports tournament organiser BLAST has revealed that it will be banning Russian Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams from its events due to the country’s invasion of Ukraine. This marks the first time since the conflict began that a tournament organiser or developer has barred Russian-based teams from competing, despite Russian athletes and teams facing similar sanctions in the world of traditional sports.
As well as a blanket ban on Russian teams from BLAST events, the CIS region qualifier for the BLAST Spring Showdown has also been cancelled. This event not only would have featured teams from Russia, but it was being co-organised and produced by WePlay, a Ukraine-based tournament organiser that last week cut ties with any Russian partners.
In a statement, BLAST apologises to CIS CS:GO fans, but claims it is the right thing to do given the current situation. “We are sorry to the fans and players in the CIS region for this decision, but we do not think it is appropriate that this event goes ahead, at this time.
“Gaming and esports unites people from all races, countries, and beliefs. We hope the situation on the world stage reflects this as soon as possible.”
This ban on Russian teams will likely directly affect top CS:GO teams like Gambit and Virtus.Pro, both likely attendees to upcoming BLAST events. Gambit was also the winner of last year’s BLAST Spring Finals and came runner up in 2021’s BLAST Premier World Finals.
BLAST has, however, clarified to Dexerto’s Luis Mira that only teams based in Russia will be banned from events. Teams that have Russian-majority rosters but are based outside of Russia, such as reigning BLAST Premier champion Na’Vi, will not be affected.
The cancellation of the CIS qualifier will also mean teams from neighbouring countries to Russia will be unable to qualify for BLAST’s Spring events as well. Teams and players from the likes of Kazakhstan, Belarus, and even Ukraine have all competed in various CIS qualifier events in the past.
Overview. The CS:GO Patch Pack. The CS:GO Patch Pack is the first Patch Pack added to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in the 24 February 2020 update and contains 21 Valve-made patches, that can be applied to Agents.
This update focuses on making changes to Insertion II, the map, and the introduction of the Dreams and Nightmares Case. Introducing the Dreams & Nightmares Case featuring the winning 17 community-designed weapon finishes.
Patches in CS:GO are single use in-game items that can be applied to any Agent you own. Once applied, a Patch’s location cannot be changed; the Patch can only be removed from the Agent. Like Stickers on a weapon, any Patches applied to an Agent will remain if it is bought or sold on the Steam Community Market.
How many times can you scrape a sticker? You can scrape the sticker up to 10 times in CS:GO. The tenth scraping removes the sticker from the skin.
