After taking one year out to get its stuff together, the WWE 2K series recently made its triumphant return to the ring. WWE 2K22 improves on its predecessor in just about every measurable way and marks a real return to form for the long-running series. It may not be the best WWE game ever, but it’s really not too far off and is easily the best-looking one to date.
WWE 2K22 Towers and Faction Wars
WWE 2K22 update 1.06 addresses a number of concerns including game mode exploits and more. The Faction Wars is simple: You put your four best fighters into a match against four AI opponents. Each win gives you different rewards; it could be free cards, it could be MFP, etc.
It is a grind and as an idea of what to expect, getting five wins in the mode will grant you an emerald Big Boss Man with a 68 overall rating.
Weekly Towers are as they sound; you’ll be fighting through a tower in a bid to earn rewards. Again, MFP and free packs are the rewards here, so take advantage, especially at the start of the game.
WWE 2K22 Locker Codes
Much like other 2K games, such as NBA, WWE 2K22 offers locker codes for you. If you complete the tutorial, for example, you’ll receive the code ‘NOFLYZONE’ which will allow you to unlock a free Drew Gulak with an overall rating of 65.
All you need to do is go to the locker codes screen and punch it in. Keep an eye on the WWE 2K22 Twitter account too, as they’ve been known to hand out locker codes with regularity.
Evolution Cards in WWE 2K22
These are key so keep an eye out for them. As soon as you unearth an Evolution Card, put them in your faction, because they upgrade through sustained play.
You earn upgrades by doing certain moves in a number of matches, so it’s worth sticking at least one Evolution Card into your faction right at the very start. One upgrade can be gained by performing 20 diving attacks, 25 reversals, and 65 running attacks.
Pre-order bonuses
If you pre-ordered the standard edition of WWE 2K22, you’ll get a couple of free packs in MyFaction, giving you Rey Mysterio from Starrcade 96, and all three versions of the Undertaker that are in the game.
If you pre-ordered the NWO 4-LIFE edition, you’ll get playable versions of Kevin Nash, Hulk Hogan, Syxx, and Scott Hall in MyFaction, along with Eric Bischoff as a manager. All of these cards are Evo cards, meaning they upgrade through play.
WWE 2K22 Roster Legends
For the highly anticipated WWE 2K22 video game, G4 and UpUpDownDown put on an exclusive presentation where they revealed a bevvy of new superstar ratings (and even some new roster additions). We’ve compiled all of the newly revealed ratings in one convenient location, which can be found on the following slide.
AJ Styles, Bayley, and King Woods are among the superstars who have received ratings this week, including Becky Lynch, Ricochet, The Usos, Sasha Banks and Riddle. Rey Mysterio is also receiving ratings today, who is this year’s cover star. Not everyone was thrilled with their ratings (particularly The Miz), and we could disagree with more than a few of them, but that’s part of what makes it all so entertaining. On the next slide, you can see a list of all of the ratings.
So far, the ratings have been relatively equally distributed between contemporary celebrities and legendary figures, and the majority of the revelations have received good ratings. Belair will get a lot of attention, as she has received lower ratings than she deserved. It is unknown what will be done by the other women in the division because she is the only one who has been exposed so far.
What is MyGM Mode in WWE 2K22?
In WWE 2K22 MyGM Mode, players can step into the role of a WWE General Manager in a competition for ratings and revenue – choosing a WWE brand between Raw, SmackDown, NXT, or NXT UK.
In MyGM you draft superstars, book matches and rivalries, manage contracts, and call the shots on your way to run the most successful brand in the WWE Universe.
You also have to manage your budget and your Superstars’ morale to make sure they don’t jump ship to your rival’s show.
The final goal of MyGM Mode is to build the best WWE brand by the time of Wrestlemania, whether you’re competing against the AI or a friend in co-op mode. Whoever has the most popular show with the most revenue at the end, wins the mode.
If you’re curious to know how WWE 2K22’s MyGM stacks up against the GM Mode from classic SmackDown vs. Raw games, check out our Side-by-side table comparing MyGM and GM Mode, with all pros and cons.
The standard version of WWE 2K22 will launch on March 11, 2022, across PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Hulk Hogan, “Macho Man” Randy Savage, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, The Rock, Andre the Giant, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Chyna, and Trish Stratus are just a few of the legendary wrestlers that appear in the game.
The WWE 2K22 Deluxe Edition is worth purchasing for anyone that was planning on getting the season pass. The game combined with the season pass is ultimately worth the same as WWE 2K22 Deluxe Edition, which effectively means it comes with the alternate versions of The Undertaker and Rey Mysterio for free.
