Kunado’s Locus is one of the three hidden areas in Enkanomiya. Upon descending into Byakuyakoku, Kunado’s Locus will be hidden from view on the map, even after lighting up the entire region. To make it visible in the World Map, you must first accept the World Quest called Erebos’ Secret, which will prompt you to take on the Three Great Martial Trials.
You can do so by heading to the upper right corner of the altar in The Serpent’s Heart during Evernight after completing the From Dusk to Dawn in Byakuyakoku questline. You’ll find the afterimage named ???, who will reveal herself to be Eboshi. Speak to her to unlock Kunado’s Locus.
Getting to Kunado’s Locus
Start by heading northeast of the Teleport Waypoint south of The Serpent’s Heart. Jump down to find a bright clearing with water and a school of Ghostfish floating above it. Use a Geo Construct, Wind Current, or use the nearby rocks and a tall character to jump into the Ghostfish.
Once you’re at the center of the school of Ghostfish, don’t click on anything and let the fish lift you up and transport you to Kunado’s Locus. If you fall from the Ghostfish, try again and consider jumping from a higher platform so that you land directly into the center.
When you make it to Kunado’s Locus, don’t forget to unlock the Teleport Waypoint in the area for easy transport in the future.
Genshin Impact Kunado’s Trial Kunado’s Locus
Once you’ve started the Erebos’ Secret quest in Genshin Impact, you’ll see three floating islands in the distance. One of these has Kunado’s Trial where you’ll need to release the Flames of the High Gate (i.e., floating blue embers). Here’s our Genshin Impact Erebos’ Secret guide to help you complete Kunado’s Trial.
Kunado’s Trial or Kunado’s Locus is connected to The Serpent’s Heart area in Genshin Impact. Instead of a grassy field, you’ll find a pool of water down a hole in the southern portion of this landmass. Defeat the nearby Bathysmal Vishaps so you can open the chest. You can then glide and let the Ghostfish current take you through the portal.
Once you’re there, you’ll need to interact with all four Flames of the High Gate. However, instead of solving puzzles, you’ll need to activate the four torches next to the statues by using Pyro attacks.
When you do this, waves of mobs will spawn:
Wave #1 – 4x Rifthounds
Wave #2 – 3x Abyss Mages
Wave #3 – 2x Bathysmal Vishaps
Wave #4 – 1x Hydro Abyss Lector
With all foes eliminated, the barriers surrounding the statues will disappear. You should be able to climb on top of them to grab the flames. After that, make your way to the next tower and talk to the shade. This will complete the Kunado’s Trial quest in Genshin Impact.
Note: Don’t forget to finish Yachimatahiko’s Trial and Yachimatahime’s Trial as well. When you’re done with all three, return to Erebos to finish the Erebos’ Secrets quest.
Trivia
Kunado’s Locus can be glided to from the rocks above the Dainichi Mikoshi at any time, even if Eboshi has not been talked to.
Before talking to Eboshi for the first time and starting the World Quest The Three Great Martial Trials, there is nothing in this area except for some floating textures, but arriving at this area shows this area’s name and difficulty rating just like other areas.
After talking to Eboshi for the first time and starting the World Quest The Three Great Martial Trials, Kunado’s Locus is raised, and a Time Tunnel at The Emanant Skylight in The Serpent’s Heart appears that teleports players to the Teleport Waypoint in Kunado’s Locus.
After Kunado’s Locus is raised by Eboshi, players can land on this area after gliding from the rocks above the Dainichi Mikoshi. However, most of this area is surrounded by a barrier until the player has sufficiently progressed through Kunado’s Trial. Aside from a few errant patches of cliff and land, the only place outside of the barrier is the area around the Teleport Waypoint.
The area can be glided to and landed upon with 240 Max Stamina with various combinations of Stamina restoration, decreases in gliding Stamina consumption, increases in gliding movement speed, and Talents that can be used in mid-air to gain distance or height.
The Teleport Waypoint can be unlocked as soon as the area is raised by Eboshi, regardless of how the player reaches the area.
Etymology
Kunado (Japanese: 岐) is derived from Kunado-no-Kami (Japanese: 岐の神), a Japanese local god believed to protect against disasters and evil spirits. Some believe Kunado, Yachimatahiko, and Yachimatahime to be three gods of the Dōsojin (or Sae no kami), Shinto kami who protect travelers.
The Kunado in Kunado-no-Kami’s name is derived from 来な処 kunado, “sacred place, place not to be entered”, lit. “come-not-place”.
Kunado’s Locus is a subarea in Enkanomiya, Inazuma. It is initially hidden from the map and can be unlocked and shown on the map by starting the Erebos’ Secret questline.
After the battle sequence, the four statues will unlock. Climb each statue and interact with them to release the Flame of the High Gate, completing your objective. Follow the quest marker to the afterimage of Daimon to report your progress, completing the Trial.
To start a Test Run, open the Paimon Menu and choose the Events button, which will list the current Test Run, permanent events not yet completed, and other limited time events currently running.
Head down for a fight against the trio of Bathysmal Vishap. You have one final fight against a Pyro Abyss Lector. Once the fights are over, you’ll be able to obtain the Bloodbranch Coral.
