If you’re someone who enjoys multiplayer games and robots, then you would love War Robots. It’s an action multiplayer game that’s published by PIXIONIC. It’s a 6-vs-6 tactical battle where you and 5 other players control robots and duke it out against another 6-player team. You will have various robots to acquire and then upgrade to help you battle.
Your Starting Robot in War Robots
All players will start with the same robot, the Destrier, which is equipped with a level 1 Spiral and Molot. Once you unlock your Second Hangar, you can also acquire the Cossack. Both robots can help you get through in the first few games, but they will quickly decrease their value because of their low attack power. Even after you upgrade them to level 2, it won’t make much of a difference.
The next robot that you should be getting is Leo, Natasha, or Vityaz. The Doc is also a good option if you’re going for the Tulumbas instead of the Punishers. This is also the time to purchase the Thunder, as it’s a good combination with the Punisher.
Robot in War Robots
A robot is a large, armed, walking war machine, which players use to battle for dominance over a battlefield. Each robot belongs to one of three weight classes; light, medium or heavy. Robots come in a multitude of configurations varying in size, shape, speed, durability, special active or built-in abilities, and more. Most of these robots have confirmed Factions, which are the group which these robots belong to (according to official lore).
Each robot has a fixed number and type of equipment hardpoints (a maximum of 4 total). There are 3 types of hardpoints: light, medium, and heavy. A piece of equipment can only be fitted to the corresponding hardpoint type. The number and type of hardpoints cannot be changed.
Most robots require the player to reach a certain level before the robots become available for purchase. To reach a higher level, the player needs to gain experience.
Use Your Gold & Power Cell Wisely
It’s also important that you don’t just spend your gold outright in War Robots. They’re the premium currency in the game, so it’s best that you save them as much as possible. In the beginning, you might be tempted to use them, but try to avoid that. Once you’ve opened your 5th hangar slot, that’s the time when it’s already okay to start using your gold.
Power Cells, on the other hand, are used to activate the active modules in your robots. The modules are nodes that you can attach to your robots and grant them special buffs. The active modules are the most readily available upgrade to every player. Active modules will usually allow your bot to repair themselves, ignore shields, see stealth enemies, and so on. Though they might be tempting to use, you should save them first and use them once you reach the Gold League. You’ll need them there more than in the lower leagues.
Behemoth The Best Robot in War Robots
The Behemoth is without a doubt the biggest force to be reckoned with in War Robots, perhaps even being among the best robots in video games. Despite being a medium robot, it has one of the highest durabilities in the game. In the end, this means that the robot can last a very long time.
However, players shouldn’t let this fact foul them. Despite its incredibly high defensive set, it isn’t a one-trick pony by any means. In fact, the Behemoth hosts one of the highest firepowers in all of War Robots, with a striking four heavy weapon slots.
Best Weapons in War Robots
Thermite
Thermite is an explosive weapon that can sabotage enemies at close-range. Each missile can deal 4,050 damage at ranges up to 350 meters. It can hold up to four missiles and has a lock-on system to track enemies on the map. People should take cover while fighting robots whenever possible, as it can take ten seconds to reload the weapon. This Tier III weapon can be purchased for 3,000 Gold.
Hornet
Hornet is a shell-shooter weapon that can wreck robots at ranges up to 600 meters. The kinetic weapon has an increased reload time of twelve seconds, which requires players to take cover after emptying out their magazines. Jesse and Butch are suitable robots on whom to mount Hornet, as they have the ability Quick Draw. The ability lets players deactivate a set of weapons and instantly activate another set while the deactivated weapons reload.
Prisma
Prisma is a long-range weapon and is used by snipers to hunt their opponents from vantage points on the map. The energy weapon can punish enemies on large maps such as Dreadnought, Rome, and Shenzhen. Each hit from Prisma can deal 2,940 damage, and the weapon takes thirteen seconds to reload.
Thunder
Thunder is a starter weapon that can be unlocked at level 7. A kinetic weapon, it is most effective at demolishing robots in close and mid-range combat. The accuracy of this Tier I weapon decreases as enemies move further away. The shells of the heavy weapon can spread, making it handy while fighting heavy robots. It takes ten seconds to reload and can hold up to five rounds per clip.
Glacier
Glacier is a unique weapon with the ability to freeze enemies with every shot. The close-range weapon can be unlocked at level 20. It can be obtained for 6,000 Gold in War Robots. It can be a useful weapon against robots that move fast on the map. Robots that use the ability Dash such as Kumiho, Strider, and Bolt can be frozen in place with Glacier.
This explosive weapon has a splash radius that can damage and slow opponents when outnumbered on the map. Glacier has a large capacity for ammunition and can break through physical shields with its high burst damage.
The best choice for beginners is the Destrier bot. Players should stick to the Destrier bot, focusing on getting a general feel for the game and the controls. The Destrier is a decent all-rounder, making it perfect for someone learning the ropes. It has a Durability of 44,000 and 42kph Speed.
The Zeus can be deadly to a Carnage, due to the fact it ignores Ancile shielding, and that the hitpoints of it is extremely low for a medium robot. The Zeus is a direct reference to the ancient Greek god of the sky and thunder.
Strategy. The Cossack is one of the first bots obtainable, and with its Jump ability Cossack is a great beacon capturer. Due to its single medium hardpoint, low HP, and lack of shielding pilots should avoid direct confrontation as much as possible, and instead try to flank enemies or outmaneuver them.
Jaeger is a high threat in both low and medium leagues due to its high firepower, but is a moderate threat in the upper leagues due to its low speed while using its ability.
