The Boom Skull is an interesting one in Halo Infinite, but where and how can you get your hands on it?
Where is the Boom Skull in Halo Infinite?
As usual, we don’t want to spoil the Boom Skull’s location in the thumbnail, do we? Oh, and as usual, there’s a lot to get into in this article. A lot to breakdown. The Boom Skull is, much like the Mythic Skull, rather hidden from view, but not necessarily very hard to discover. Halo Infinite is a massive game (in fact, it was originally going to be as big as Breath of the Wild!), so even if things are easy to collect, if they are difficult to see then they are almost impossible to find.
That’s where we come in, of course. Guides, tips and tricks are all critical to getting the best you can out of Halo Infinite, being it your goal to collect all of the skulls in the game, or to complete a fantastic LASO Playthrough. You will also want to prepare yourself for the potential story DLC by getting as good at the game as possible, and what better way is there than collecting Skulls? So let’s dive in…
What is the Boom Skull in Halo Infinite’s Campaign?
The Boom Skull doubles the radius of explosions in Halo Infinite. So, yes, the Boom Skull’s name is actually a very relevant one in this case. Now, this can be both a good and a bad thing for you when equipped. On the one hand, when you throw a grenade or blow something up it will cause double the damage. On the other hand, though, you will be far more vulnerable to explosions created by your opponent. Choose your poison…

Take the Elevator Up
As you are exploring the ship, take the elevator all the way up to the top and fight the five Jackyls that fill the room. This shouldn’t be too hard (well, it is the very start of the game), and you now need to head into the next room.
Take Out the Enemies
In the following room, players will need to kill the various Brutes and Grunts so that they can safely find the Boom Skull. Once they are defeated, return to the entry of the room (where you came in) and look back as if you were walking into the room again for the first time.
Scan the Room
Use your scanner to see where the Skull is. You will see that it is on a little platform up to the right of the entry door, hidden from players’ direct view.
Ride Up the Elevator and Collect
As we mentioned, the skull is on the second level, to the right of the door. Jump onto the second level, look up to the right and scan if you haven’t already. Ride the little elevator thingy up to wards the skull and collect the Boom Skull from the small alcove.
Where Is The Mythic Skull In Halo Infinite’s Campaign?
Following is a series of tasks that need to be completed to find and get the Mythic Skull. It is not just a matter of knowing where it is, but also a matter of understanding exactly what you need to do to pop it in your pocket. Here are the details!
Make Your Way To Mission 11: The Command Spire
This one is pretty straightforward: you need to get to the right mission before you can pick up the Mythic Skull! The mission in question is Mission 11: The Command Spire, and it’s actually a pretty good mission!
Reach The Hexagonal Pillars
The mission begins with a number of pillar processing rooms filled with enemies. Eventually, you will reach a rather large room situated after a Gravity Lift. Kill the enemies inside and head down the room whilst paying attention to the transforming hexagonal pillars.
Jump Onto The Floating Beams
When the pillars turn to the right, you will be faced with a number of enemies. Eliminate them and then locate the weapon rack. There is a support beam to the left of it and, whilst standing on said beam, you need to Grappleshot onto the floating beams that are turning right. As it turns right, Grappleshot into the room above.
Reach the Blue Door
Once you are in the room, look up again and Grappleshot onto the ledge above you. Now that you are in the opening, you will see a blue door. Unsurprisingly, you need to open the door.
Pick Up The Mythic Skull
Now it’s simple! Walk up to the Mythic Skull and pick it up! Wow, you have it now, are you excited? Well, we are certainly excited for you! The Mythic Skull is a pretty brutal, but pretty fun skull. It’s not for the faint of heart, but is certainly worth trying out if you want to become a true master at Halo Infinite. Enjoy!
Halo Infinite does a lot right. It’s the best feeling Halo that 343 has put out, a return to form that sports a phenomenal weapon sandbox, a lovingly nostalgic aesthetic, and a grappling hook that might even rival Titanfall 2’s. By all reasonable metrics, Halo Infinite is pretty bloody great.
The Halo Infinite multiplayer modes are totally free to play, and you don’t even need an Xbox Game Pass or Xbox Live subscription to jump into those online player-versus-player battles.
They’ve given it a 16+ certificate. The announcement came in the buildup to the release date, but with Guardians already having a 16 classification, it was a fairly sure bet that the sequel would go the same way.
Halo Infinite starts in medias res, meaning there’s already a story going on before the player takes control of Master Chief. To be clear, the story we’re referring to here is a new story, so even players who are all caught up on their Halo history will still be confused. That’s by design.
