Thomas Stanley Holland was born in Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey, to Nicola Elizabeth (Frost), a photographer, and Dominic Holland (Dominic Anthony Holland), who is a comedian and author.
After a successful eleven plus exam, he became a pupil at Wimbledon College. Having successfully completed his GCSEs, in September 2012 Tom started a two-year course in the BRIT School for Performing Arts & Technology notable for its numerous famous alumni.
A graduate of the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in London, he began his acting career on London stage in the title role of Billy Elliot the Musical in the West End theatre from 2008 to 2010. He then starred in the disaster film The Impossible (2012), for which he received a London Film Critics Circle Award for Young British Performer of the Year.
Holland achieved international fame for portraying Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero films, beginning with Captain America: Civil War (2016). In 2017, Holland won the BAFTA Rising Star Award, at 20-years-old, the second-youngest recipient at the time.
Became most famous in 2021 for his roles in cherry, the devil all time and most of all sharing the stage once again with zendaya in Spider-Man no way home.
In December 2021, Spider-Man: No Way Home scored the second best opening day of all time at the US box office, with $121M.
While No Way Is Home is said to most likely be Tom’s last outing as the superhero, here’s some interesting news.
