Terrifying video shows ‘America’s Got Talent’ star crushed in stunt-gone-wrong
A daredevil escape artist was crushed by two cars in a caught-on-camera stunt gone horribly awry for “America’s Got Talent: Extreme.”
The sickening video, obtained by TMZ, shows Jonathan Goodwin, 41, get sandwiched between the vehicles, which are suspended 70 feet in the air, instead of narrowly dropping between them and onto an air mattress below. The cars erupted into a fireball on impact.
For the stunt, Goodwin was supposed to free himself from a straight jacket while dangling from his feet between the two swinging cars, the gossip site reported.
But instead of going out without a hitch, Goodwin then fell to the ground, hitting his head — which the clip does not show.
He was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition and underwent surgery. His current condition is not known.
The accident was so grisly, the crew on set thought Goodwin was dead, TMZ reported.
“AGT: Extreme” began filming its first season earlier this month.
