Avex Confirms New Muv-Luv Game Project Immortal Will Be Released By End of 2021 As It Celebrates Anime Debut
Today Avex Group sent a press release announcing that it has achieved full in-house production of both games and anime with the debut of the Muv-Luv Alternative animated series airing today in Japan.
We also hear that the action RPG code-named Project Immortal will launch in Japan (only in Japanese, for now) for mobile platforms by the end of the year.
On top of that, we already know that Project Mikhail will launch in early access this month on Steam with a Nintendo Switch version coming down the line.
This is happening thanks to the collective efforts of Avex’s subsidiaries Avex Pictures, FLAGSHIP LINE, aNCHOR, and Fuzz, as the company intends to continue expanding the Muv-Luv franchise globally.
The animation is produced by Avex Pictures and FLAGSHIP LINE (a joint venture with Graphinica), also taking advantage of the animation quality of Graphinica’s own subsidiary Yumeta Company.
Project Mikhail is published by aNCHOR and developed by Fuzz, and Project Immortal is developed with aNCHOR as a publisher.

Muv-Luv Alternative
Muv-Luv Alternative is based on the second game of the Muv-Luv franchise by âge and streams on Crunchyroll on Wednesdays.
Muv-Luv is one of those sprawling franchises I’ve always wanted to get in to. Sadly, at the moment, I have only seen the spinoff Schwarzes Marken (which helpfully takes place in the Muv-Luv Alternative timeline, though in the 1980s).
However, the big fans I’ve talked to all seem to agree that Muv-Luv Alternative is the pinnacle of the franchise—and after even only a single episode, I think I am beginning to see why.

Muv-Luv
Muv-Luv is a Japanese visual novel developed by âge and originally released as an adult game for Windows on February 28, 2003.
Consisting of two parts, Muv-Luv Extra and Muv-Luv Unlimited, the gameplay in Muv-Luv follows a linear plot line, which offers pre-determined scenarios and courses of interaction, and focuses on the differing scenarios of the female main characters.
Muv-Luv was followed by a sequel, Muv-Luv Alternative,[g] which was released for Windows on April 24, 2006 and follows the storyline of Muv-Luv Unlimited.
The trilogy’s story initially presents itself as a light-hearted romantic comedy (Extra), but changes into an alternate timeline coming-of-age story (Unlimited), and finally evolves into an alien invasion war epic (Alternative).
