Tyson Fury goes up against Deontay Wilder for a third time to defend his WBC crown ! fans recall the dreaded ‘Drake curse’

People Worried Tyson Fury Will Fall Victim To Drake Curse After He Sends Message

Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury

Tyson Fury fans are worried that the boxer will fall victim to the ‘Drake curse’ after he posted a video message from the ‘Girls Want Girls’ singer.

The ‘Drake curse’ is basically a phenomenon that some people believe happens when Drake supports an athlete or team before a big sporting fixture – whether it’s wearing a jersey, posing for a photo or, in this case, sends them a message of encouragement – which means they will go on to lose, often against the odds.

With that in mind, many of Fury’s fans are concerned as he goes up against Deontay Wilder for a third time to defend his WBC crown, all thanks to a video message his pal Drake sent him.

Posting the clip on Twitter, Fury wrote: “Trust me @Drake, once I’m done with him he’ll be running through Alabama with his woes! God Bless You G.”

In the video, filmed in selfie mode, Drake tells Dury: “This is a video for the most psycho man that I know. He’s mad in his head, but he has the purest heart, nicest guy. The Gypsy King, the scariest man in boxing.

“I’m wishing you the best of luck this weekend, brother. I want you to just go out there and continue the legacy.

“Do what you do. We all love you because you’re relentlessly yourself.

“So go out there and get the work done and afterwards f*****g sing your heart out or say whatever the f**k you want to say.

“I’mma tell you, brother, we’re all so proud of you. We love you. I appreciate you always staying in contact with me.

“I appreciate the encouragement, the inspiration. Yeah, man, I’m looking forward to seeing the end result this weekend.

“Wishing you the best, always. I’ll see you on the other side. F*** ’em.”

Voicing their concern on Twitter, one person wrote: “Na! Why Drake gotta do this before the fight. Drake curse in full effect again. Pain.”

Someone else said: “The drake curse strikes again!??”

A third commented: “Game over! Drake curse is very real!”

A fourth added: “Nobody wants a good luck message from Drake.”

Some vowed that the ‘Drake curse shall be broken’, while others argued that it already had been when the Toronto Raptors – the team Drake supports – beat Golden State Warriors 114-110 to win the NBA Finals.

The return of the ‘Drake curse’

Fans of Tyson Fury are worried that The Gypsy King will become the latest victim to the ‘Drake curse’ after the singer posted a message expressing his support for the boxer.

Essentially, the ‘Drake curse’ is a phenomenon that some people believe occurs whenever Drake shows his support for an athlete or team before they compete in a big sporting fixture.

There are a number of examples that people refer to in regard to this, for example, the Canadian could wear a team’s kit, post a photo with a player or, as is the case of Fury, post a message of encouragement on social media.

What follows this, usually against the odds, is that they go on to lose their match/event.

With this in mind, a number of Fury’s supporters – most likely jokingly – have expressed their concern about the ‘curse’ ahead of The Gypsy King’s trilogy bout against the Bronze Bomber later tonight (9 October).

WWE legend The Undertaker backs Tyson Fury to beat Deontay Wilder

“Just for me, look down at him and say ‘Rest in Peace'”

WWE legend The Undertaker has sent his support to Tyson Fury ahead of his trilogy bout against Deontay Wilder on Saturday.

The pair’s entertaining first fight ended in a draw in December 2018, with Fury securing victory in their rematch last year.

In what has been one of heavyweight boxing’s most engrossing rivalries, one of the most dramatic moments came in the first fight when Fury staggeringly got back up after suffering a brutal knockdown by Wilder.

Many people suggested that The Gypsy King’s ability to rise to his feet mirrored the action that The Undertakers used to do in the WWE.

Now, ahead of his trilogy bout ahead the Bronze Bomber, The Undertaker – whose real name is Mark Calaway – has sent a message of support to the Brit.

He told Fury to smash Wilder and then tell him “Rest in Peace”- which is a nod to the WWE legend’s theme song.

“Hey champ! It’s The Undertaker from the WWE man, I just wanted to reach out and wish you good luck on tomorrow night’s fight, not that you need it,” said the retired wrestler.
