Popular gossip outlet Deux Moi is notorious for its blind items, but after three separate submissions regarding Madelyn and Chase flooded in on Sept. 15, 2021, fans started to think there might be some merit behind them. One item claimed that Madelyn and Chase were supposed to attend the Met Gala together as one of the “It couples” Anna Wintour invited, but bailed at the last minute.

Another blind claimed the couple had already broken up, and that Chase attended an event where he flirted with other people, looking “very much single.” The pair haven’t been spotted out together recently, and some fans even theorized that Chase was having a “boys’ night” as recently as a week ago, with bachelor Tom Felton of the Harry Potter franchise.

However, while neither party has confirmed or denied the breakup rumors, on Sept. 16, 2021, Madelyn posted a tribute for Chase’s birthday. In a series of photos on her Instagram story, she wrote, “Happiest birthday to you, nerd,” with a single heart emoji. Many have taken this as a sign that they haven’t split after all, but others aren’t convinced.

The Outer Banks actress, 23, fêted her costar and boyfriend on Thursday by sharing a series of photos of the birthday boy on Instagram Stories, writing in a sweet message when all her posts were strung together: “Happiest birthday to you, nerd.”

Cline also posted a video of Stokes jumping on what appeared to be a large pillow, prompting a response from the actor.

“Thank you for exposing my bedtime routine,” he joked on his Instagram Story.

“Happiest birthday to you, nerd,” the 23-year-old actress wrote on a series of Instagram Story slides. Did we mention they’re also dating? Back in June 2020, they made their romance Instagram official when Stokes posted photos of their beach date. “Cats outta the bag,” he cleverly captioned the pictures.

While it won’t be his turn to return the birthday love on social media until Cline’s special day in December, he paid tribute to her with a heartwarming post for her 21st birthday last year.

“It’s quite rare to meet somebody and feel everything change,” he wrote at the time. “Thank you for making the coldest days warm, for your infectious love, and being the best dog mom to Lil mi. Happy birthday sweet thang you make my heart warm and fuzzy.”

Can’t look away! Chase Stokes became a breakout star after appearing on Netflix’s Outer Banks, and he has only continued to branch out since.

Although Chase, 29, is still learning about fashion, he recently opened up about his typical approach to picking out clothing options for himself.

“My go-to [look] is going to be some easy sneaker or a pair of flip flops, American Eagle jeans, and, more than likely, a beat-up vintage shirt. And a beanie because I always try to keep my hair out of my face! But, beyond that, I really do dig a lot of the new fashion trends that are coming,” he told Fashion Week Daily in August 2021. “I’ve been wearing sort of wide-legged pants quite a bit with some of the more, I guess, press stuff that I do. I love a good jacket over a simple tank. I think it always looks great!”

The Maryland native credits his stylist, Avo Yermagyan, for shaping his look for events.

“He is so good about introducing me to new and exciting things and we just had a lot of fun in his studio, mixing and matching pieces,” he noted at the time.
