BTS News : BTS Beat Taylor Swift and Adele On The Sales Chart

BTS Beat Taylor Swift For The Most Weeks At No. 1 In History On The Sales Chart

Last week, BTS conquered quite a few Billboard charts with their latest single, “My Universe,” a collaboration between the South Korean powerhouses and U.K.-based pop-rock quartet Coldplay.

The tune blasted in at No. 1 on rankings like the Hot 100 and a number of rock-related lists thanks primarily to its immediate success when it came to fans purchasing the cut. “My Universe” arrived at No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales ranking with 127,000 copies sold, and this frame, it’s steady on top once again.

With one more week at No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart to their credit, BTS have broken out of a tie with one of the most successful musicians of all time and proved, like never before, that they can still sell music in an industry that has largely moved on from buying and focused heavily on streaming.

As “My Universe” leads the charge once again, BTS collect their forty-fifth week at No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart. That’s not just an amazing number, it’s the most impressive sum of all time.

With another frame in charge of the purchase-only list, the septet breaks out of a tie with Taylor Swift. Last period, the two names were on the same level as one another with 44 weeks on top, but now, after years of claiming this piece of history, Swift has been pushed to second place.
Interestingly, BTS pass Swift in this regard, but she still leads when it comes to the artists with the most No. 1 hits on the Digital Song Sales chart. So far, the singer-songwriter has sent 22 different tracks to the summit. That’s the most among all acts by far, and she remains the only name to accrue 20 or more leaders. BTS have only pushed nine tunes to the peak position—enough to tie them with Bruno Mars and Beyoncé for the seventh-most ever.

Swift’s No. 1 hits on the Digital Song Sales chart only average two weeks on top, while BTS’s smashes are apparently much more stable.

The K-pop band’s successes live at No. 1 for an average of five weeks apiece, though that number doesn’t give credit to some of their biggest wins.

BTS currently claim two for the three longest-running chart-toppers in the history of the ranking.

Their disco-leaning cut “Dynamite” holds the record for the most frames on the throne, with 18, while their own “Butter” is on the same level as Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber’s “Despacito” for second place, with 17 weeks atop the tally each.

Chan-won Lee debuts not one, but two songs on the Gaon Download chart this week, highlighting the fact that since breaking into the mainstream’s consciousness on the TV show Mr. Trot, he has become a real star. BTS at SoFi: 300,000+ Tickets Sold

Demand for a four-show run at SoFi Stadium in California by BTS was so high, it’s causing some superfans of the KPop outfit to consider trying to retaliate against LA Chargers and Rams fans.

That’s the kind of week it has been in ticketing, as the wildly popular group’s fans wrestled with buggy systems, enormous queues, and rapidly dwindling chances to catch the band’s first in-person shows in two years. And not a single ticket was even offered to the general public, as the entire quantity of nearly 400,000 tickets was sold out before that day came.

“Due to overwhelming past purchaser & verified fan presale demand for BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – LA, all shows are sold out & tickets are not available for the public onsale,” read a tweet from Ticketmaster Fan Support sent out at 11:06 AM Friday, just hours before the general public was scheduled to get their shot at tickets to the residency this fall.

Due to overwhelming past purchaser & Verified Fan presale demand for BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – LA, all shows are sold out & tickets are not available for the public onsale.

The availability for the residency had apparently been picked clean already, with at least four specific groups given the full allotment of somewhere around 100,000 available tickets per show (the maximum capacity of SoFi Stadium is estimated at around that figure, though it’s general capacity for football games is closer to 70,000. Tuesday saw VIP ticket purchasers of the cancelled Map of the Soul tour get first crack at the tickets, followed by other MOTS ticket purchasers on Wednesday. Thursday saw tickets held back for the BTS Global Official FanClub (who were subsequently vetted for priority by Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan system) followed by Friday’s general Verified Fan offering. Plus, there were almost certainly tickets made available to corporate clients, businesses, promotional partners, and Personal Seat License holders at the stadium.

Needless to say, those who were left empty-handed when Ticketmaster announced the event was sold out entirely were very unhappy with how it went – and you didn’t have to look any further than replies to the @TMFanSupport thread to see it.

“Honestly this is ridiculous,” wrote @azlg7. “I tried on two separate presale days to get tickets and we couldn’t get them. I haven’t seen BTS in concert since 2019 and we had 8 tickets to the map of the soul concert. We were going for both nights. And now we can’t.”

Adele Sets Spotify Single-Day Streaming Record For ‘Easy On Me’, Topping BTS

British singer-songwriter Adele has returned in style, setting a new Spotify single-day record for streams on her forthcoming album’s first single, “Easy On Me.”

The record was set less than 24 hours after the single’s release. It’s part of her new album, 30, which comes out Nov. 19.

Music streamer Spotify certified the record Friday on Twitter, congratulating Adele by tweeting, “And just like that, Adele set a new record.”

The actual streaming numbers were not released. The Twitter post arrived with three hours left in the 24-hour cycle since the “Easy On Me” release.

The previous record was held by BTS’ “Butter,” which made its Spotify debut on May 21 and garnered more than 11 million streams. It was at the time the largest global debut in the platform’s history, surpassing BTS’ own record set by 2020’s “Dynamite.”

The new Adele album is, according to her, about her divorce from husband Simon Konecki.

“I was certainly nowhere near where I’d hope to be when I first started it nearly 3 years ago,” she wrote Wednesday in a Twitter statement describing the project. “Quite the opposite actually. I’ve learned a lot of blistering home truths about myself along the way,” she said, adding she’s “finally ready to put this album out.”

Songwriting and recording was cathartic for her during the tumultuous hiatus.

“I’ve painstakingly rebuilt my house and my heart since then and this album narrates it,” she wrote.

BTS: V shares cryptic posts expressing his anger amid dating rumours, says ‘Pathetic’

BTS members tend to avoid addressing dating rumours about them that make the headlines from time to time.

However, it seems like BTS singer V has shared a reaction to the recent claims that he was dating a Korean businessman’s daughter.

Earlier this week rumours spread on social media claiming that V was in a relationship with the daughter of Paradise Group’s chairman Phillip Chun and Paradise Culture Foundation’s chairwoman Choi Yoon-jung. However, BTS’ agency HYBE quickly shot down the rumours.

Hours after the clarification, V took to Weverse and posted two cryptic posts.

His first post, translated by BTS fan Soo Choi, read, “Pathetic, I’d like to sing UGH,” referring to BTS’ popular song. The song calls out those social media users who spread wrong rumours. He followed it up with another post that read, “In tonight’s dream I’ll shoot poisoned needle on their back necks. Please watch out for your neck. Puk Puk.”
