Phoenix Suns’ Devin Booker gifts pair of Final Four teams Nike Book 1
The Purdue and Alabama men’s basketball teams are two of the four squads taking over Phoenix for the Final Four this weekend.
They’re also two of four teams that were greeted in a very Phoenix way when Suns guard Devin Booker swung by to give out some words of wisdom and new pairs of his Nike Book 1s.
Nike Book 1 Performance Review!
Is this the BEST FIRST Signature Shoe?!
Nike Book 1
he highly anticipated Nike Book 1 in Light Orewood Brown is on its way, but Nike isn’t stopping there. Introducing the “Haven” colorway, a stunning addition to Devin Booker’s exclusive collection. 🐾
Inspired by Booker’s cherished furry friend, the Nike Book 1 “Haven” blends rugged workwear durability with premium finesse. Crafted with canvas panels reminiscent of tough work apparel, seamlessly fused along the midfoot, and accentuated by luxurious leather at the toe and collar, this sneaker epitomizes high-quality craftsmanship and design.
Standout features include the striking metallic bronze Swoosh, elevating the sneaker’s sophistication alongside additional bronze detailing against an all-black upper. Devin Booker’s personal touches shine through, from his signature logo on the tongue to the meaningful “96” etched on the pull tab, each subtly accented with hemp detailing.
Completing the ensemble is a black Cushlon 2.0 cushioned midsole and an icy blue outsole, ensuring both style and performance meet seamlessly. Prepare to turn heads and elevate your sneaker game with the Nike Book 1 “Haven.”
Devin Booker Wants You to Wear His New Signature Shoe for More Than Just Basketball
Devin Booker might have the most pleasing aesthetic in the NBA. From his soothing nature-pic-filled Instagram feed to his classic car collection–his taste, much like game, is refined. It only makes sense that his first signature shoe matches his understated-yet-stylish vibe.
The Nike Book 1, which the three-time All-Star will debut on the court this season, looks more like an off-court shoe than the ones his peers wear. That’s intentional: the design draws inspiration from the Air Force 1 as well as one of his restored classic cars-a ‘72 Chevy Blazer K5 he nicknamed “Uncle Larry.”
With a new signature shoe, and a new-look Suns team that includes a (healthy) Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal, Devin Booker may be shooting for his biggest NBA season yet. GQ caught up with the Suns star to talk about how drawing shoes as a kid prepared him for his new role as a designer, owning a life-size KD Fathead, and how his off-court style is 1-of-1.
Devin Booker’s Latest Nike Book 1 PE Salutes the Air Jordan 1 “Shattered Backboard”
Orange toeboxes, collars, heel overlays and tabs work with black eyestays, mudguards, Swooshes and tongues to provide true-to-form “Shattered Backboard” style, with white quarter panels providing both tone and texture contrasts, as, besides the tongue, they’re the only part of the upper that’s not constructed of tumbled leather, instead opting for a fabric build. Sail midsoles and orange outsoles continue the look down below, while Booker’s “Book” hit on the tongue rounds things off.
This “Shattered Backboard” PE follows shortly after Booker took the court in an Air Max 95 “Neon”-inspired colorway of the Book 1, and serves as further indication of the energy around the silhouette. Due to its mid-top cut and classic material construction, the Book 1 is the rare new performance basketball shoe that appears as if it may have a lifestyle application, something Nike is clearly leaning into with these lifestyle-geared PEs.
Though this PE iteration of the Book 1 was created specifically for Booker and will not see a retail release, you can expect the Book 1 to start rolling out in full this spring.
