After Addison Rae made her Met Gala debut Monday night in a vintage red Gucci gown, many fans wondered if she’d borrowed the dress Kourtney Kardashian wore for Christmas in 2019.
While the famous friends’ styles are, in fact, different dresses, they both hail from the same 2003 Tom Ford for Gucci collection.
And since Kardashian’s festive gown featured the same curve-hugging skirt and corseted bodice as Rae’s, minus the straps, it’s easy to see why Twitter users assumed the “He’s All That” star had scored a high-fashion hand-me-down from her BFF.

At the event on Monday, Sept. 13, the TikTok dancer climbed the steps of the Met in a vintage gown from Tom Ford for Gucci. The silky red dress had a figure-hugging bodice and a flowing train, reminding fans of a look the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star wore to Kris Jenner’s 2019 Christmas Eve party.
and although she looked pretty, she wasn’t really serving anything I haven’t seen before.
While I’m sure most people were too occupied to even notice this, the younger generation did, and they did not let this slide easily. This is just another one of those moments that I wish Addison would have made her own, because her bestie has been connected to a few of her debut moments now, like her first acting gig. I am a fan of the new hair, though, because the short cut suits her well. It’s quite the jump from her signature brown, wavy locks, so we’ll have to see if she’s going to be making any more big changes to her TikTok look in the future.

TikTok superstar Addison Rae canceled her performance at the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Festival, which begins Friday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Rae, 20, was set to perform on Saturday at the Daytime Stage, alongside Oliva Rodrigo, All Time Low, Gabby Barrett, and Saweetie. It’s a disappointing end of the week for Rae, who started this week by attending her first Met Gala on Monday.
