WHY DID XQC AND GIRLFRIEND ADEPT (SAMMY) BREAK UP? A LOOK AT STREAMER’S RELATIONSHIP
twitch Streamers xQc and Adept Have Broken Up
Twitch Streamers xQc and Adept announce their break-up on Twitter and request that their fans do not harass each other or make accusations.
It’s often been said that nothing lasts forever, and that statement proves especially true when Twitch streamers are involved. The incredibly popular and controversial Twitch streamer xQc took to Twitter and shared some sad news with his fans: he and fellow streamer Adept have officially broken up.
This news may not come as a surprise; the two had a notoriously turbulent relationship, often fought on public platforms, and Adept recently moved out of xQc’s house.
However, the build-up hasn’t stopped some fans from getting very upset about how things have turned out for the pair.
XQc has had a lot of personal stresses recently, culminating in an unexpected absence from Twitch during part of July.
In his Tweet explaining that he and Adept were now apart, xQc broke from his usual tendency to type in all caps to convey the gravity of the message.
He states that he always tells his fans how he feels and keeps them updated on what’s happening in his life, and this is no exception, as he needs to tell them what’s going on so he can focus. He also asks that people not speculate or prod him or Adept for answers, and especially that fans not harass Adept in any way. After his involvement in the hot tub meta and ASMR meta, xQc would be well aware of the kind of harassment female Twitch streamers can face.
On her own Twitter account, Adept has also posted about the break-up, and her Tweets appear to have already led to at least one small controversy. After she posted about living with a clear conscience and knowing the truth of who she is and what she’s experienced, her words were taken by some fans as a subtle confession that xQc had been abusing her. She soon posted a follow-up Tweet in which she said she’d spoken with xQc about the situation, which was categorically untrue. Adept made it clear that anyone accusing xQc of physically abusing her would be blocked and reported, echoing her ex’s request for fans to be respectful of her and xQc.
As of writing, the overall responses to the situation appear to be sad but accepting. Several fans have expressed their condolences to xQc and Adept, and few Twitter users appear to believe the abuse accusations. However, other users have pointed out that the lack of privacy surrounding this break-up is partly due to xQc and Adept making their relationship struggles public. Regardless, the two Twitch streamers have expressed a desire to move on with their lives.
