Sister Wives is an American reality television series broadcast on TLC that premiered on September 26, 2010.
The show documents the life of a polygamist family that becomes essentially monogamist in later seasons, which includes father Kody Brown, his four wives (Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn) and their 18 children. The family began the series living in Lehi, Utah but has since moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2011 and the unincorporated township of Baderville, Arizona (northwest of Flagstaff, Arizona) in mid-2018.
Brown and his four wives have stated they participated in the show to make the public more aware of polygamist families and to combat societal prejudices. Brown alleges his polygamist arrangement is legal because he is married legally to only one woman (Robyn), while the other marriages (to Meri, Janelle and Christine) are “spiritual unions”.
Although the family claims to be polygamists, by season 16 Kody Brown can be seen living a monogamous lifestyle with his wife, Robyn. Kody and Robyn bought a house together while Meri rents a home in Flagstaff and Janelle also rents but can be seen living in her RV during warm months on the family property, Coyote Pass.

Last November, Christine announced her separation from Kody after more than 25 years together. Kody is still maintaining his plural marriages to Janelle Brown, Robyn Brown and Meri Brown, though his relationship with Meri, 51, is no longer romantic.
Paedon Brown revealed via TikTok that filming had started for Season 17 of ‘Sister Wives. ‘ In January 2022, a follower asked Christine and Kody’s son, Paedon Brown if his mom is returning if there’s another season of Sister Wives. The couple went to therapy in the aftermath and have since revealed that they are no longer intimate and that Kody no longer lives in Meri’s home. “I miss physical intimacy with him,” Meri admitted in a January 2022 reunion episode of Sister Wives.
After 25 years of marriage, Sister Wives star Christine Brown confirmed she had split from her husband, Kody Brown in November 2021. As a result, her departure from Sister Wives makes her the only one to have left the show.
Meri has strayed from her marriage before, and Sister Wives fans may recall the catfishing scandal she found herself involved in during season 9. Since her only daughter is grown and she is no longer in a strong relationship with Kody, it would be the perfect time for her to set out on her own.
