Naraka Bladepoint is set to go free-to-play on July 13, 2023, on Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation 5, making it accessible to all players worldwide. Developer 24 Entertainment has announced that the game will remain free to play, with access to all modes, maps, weapons, character customization, and cosmetics.
Naraka Bladepoint is a third-person melee combat and parkour battle royale game that has consistently been among the most-played games on Steam. The game’s unique gameplay has brought something different to the genre, and the new free-to-play model will make it even more accessible to players worldwide.
Players who own the standard, deluxe, or ultimate edition will receive 300 hero coins to unlock new characters. Free players can earn up to 35 hero coins per week, while there is no limit for players who buy one of the premium editions, and they will need 100 hero coins to unlock a new character.
The game also supports crossplay across different platforms, enabling players to play with friends as long as they are in the same region. Unfortunately, players cannot transfer their progress between platforms, and they cannot join the Gathering Hall with players on another platform.
To celebrate the free-to-play launch, “new content, features and updates” are on the way, including a new 12v12 mode called Capture The Spirt Well, a new Dual Halberd weapon, PlayStation 5 “exclusive items,” and a new 1000-year-old fox demon hero named Tessa joining the roster.
Players who previously purchased the game will also receive an extra reward. Veteran awards offer players who previously bought the game in-game gold equivalent to what edition they currently possess and more.
Earlier this year, Naraka: Bladepoint hosted a crossover event with the newly-launched ARPG, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. The game partnered with Koei Tecmo to reward Naraka players with “exclusive rewards” for logging in and completing challenges.
