Ubisoft premiered the trailer for ‘first open-world Star Wars game’ in the Xbox Games Showcase, named Star Wars: Outlaws, with a more detailed look expected to come in the company’s own showcase on June 12th.
The trailer features a young female outlaw named Kay Vess engaging in a card game at a saloon before being pursued by some henchmen. A voiceover references The Syndicate, a significant entity in the Clone Wars and Rebels TV shows. The game will follow Vess and her partner Nyx as they undertake a heist against a formidable crime syndicate in The Outer Rim.

Following the debut of the trailer, Ubisoft has confirmed that the first gameplay walkthrough for Star Wars Outlaws will be showcased during the Ubisoft Forward presentation on June 12.
The initial teaser for Ubisoft’s Star Wars game was released earlier in 2021, leaving fans curious about its nature. Ubisoft Massive, known for utilizing the Snowdrop engine in The Division, seems like a fitting choice for developing an open-world Star Wars game. In addition to Outlaws, Ubisoft Forward will provide updates on other upcoming projects such as Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR.
Star Wars Outlaws is scheduled for release in 2024 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
