Can You Play Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds on PC, PS5, PS4, or Xbox Series Consoles?
Netmarble’s mobile reinterpretation of Level-5’s beloved Ni No Kuni franchise is the latest sensation on Android and iOS, but is Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds available on other platforms? Well, yes, but only on PC at the moment. In fact, “Cross Worlds” refers to the cross-play functions between mobile and PC platforms, as much as it does to the union between the real world and the Ni No Kuni world in the game.
Is Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds available on consoles?
At the time of this writing, the answer is unfortunately no. Netmarble has not said anything about the release of the game on the latest PlayStation and Xbox consoles. However, if Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds is successful enough as a free-to-play mobile game, we could see the game brought to PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series consoles eventually.
Sequel to Iconic RPG Ni No Kuni to Feature NFT Integration and Play-to-Earn Mechanics
The new installment of Ni No Kuni, an RPG franchise brought by independent gaming studio Level 5 and animated by Studio Ghibli, has launched with blockchain elements present. The game, which has been designed for mobile and PC platforms, introduces a token system that lets players use their earnings outside of the game, and will feature support for NFTs in the future.
what is ‘Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds’ Goes Blockchain?
More and more game developers are now including blockchain and play-to-earn elements in their games as a means of innovation and empowering players. “Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds,” the new sequel to the acclaimed RPG franchise, developed by independent Japanese studio Level 5, has announced it will make use of NFTs and tokens to establish its own game economy.
The game, which features studio Ghibli animations and five different characters, each one with different attributes and stories, will use these elements to enrich the player experience. According to the official page of the game:
Our goal is to emphasize the game’s intrinsic fun factor and create a token economy structure that benefits both players and token holders.
Furthermore, the company added that these tokens will be used to “avoid speculative pre-sales and NFT pre-releases.”
Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds Ruins Entire Game Balance With Cryptocurrency; Even Whales Are Turned Off
It appears that the Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds rabbit hole is going even deeper than we initially assumed. Earlier this week, we reported how this new mobile and PC title incorporated blockchain technology, with NFTs planned to be implemented later this year.
However, a new post on the subreddit r/gachagaming by user u/Tezoze has shed further light on the crypto practices behind this game. Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds’ producer, Netmarble, has created their own custom cryptocurrency, MBX, and its utilization has impacted every playable avenue of the game. Essentially, MBX can obtain Territe, used to get items correlating to Familiars, Crafting, Upgrading, and more.
Not only that, but this currency drastically pay-gates the experience due to the most substantial facets of gameplay being purchasable via crypto, despite the developers initially saying that crypto would be a minimal inclusion.
The aftereffects of such a design decision are expected, with PvP being humorously imbalanced. The Reddit user even states that whales, gacha players who pay exorbitant amounts of money, are seemingly not too into what’s going on here since there’s nothing to push for after buying the best gear via cryptocurrency.
ni no kuni: wrath of the white witch review
Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch : role-playing video Game
It was released for the PlayStation 3 in Japan in November 2011, and published in Western regions by Namco Bandai Games in January 2013. It was also released for Nintendo Switch in September 2019, alongside a remastered version for Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 4. The game is a significantly enhanced version of Ni no Kuni: Dominion of the Dark Djinn, which originally released for the Nintendo DS in Japan in December 2010.
Players control Oliver, a young boy who sets out on a journey to save his mother. The game is played from a third-person perspective and its world is navigated on foot, by boat, or on a dragon.
While players navigate Oliver throughout the game’s world, other characters can be controlled during battles against enemies; during these battles, players use magic abilities and creatures known as “familiars”, which can be captured and tamed.

Is Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch worth it?
The game is absolutely worth its price
I am only 9 hours in on my first playthrough but I can already say that this game is 100% worth the price. I expected it to be like DQ11 where most of the praise comes from the visuals and having a decent story but oh boy this game is way better than that.
The combat system is just amazing.
It goes a lot deeper than you would initially think with each character being able to hold 3 familiars and being able to control 3 character total later in the game (so you can control 9 familiars in a fight). Each familiar is unique and has different stats and abilities (so they are not just reskins of the same thing). You can also transform them into stronger versions with more ability slots (which resets their level).
The combat system is by far not just turn based as I thought it would be. Your movement very much matters to bait out attacks, dodge attacks, gaining time, picking up orbs (small amount of HP & MP which drops randomly in the fight) etc.
Then there is also a mechanic where enemies will charge up attacks and you have to quickly defend or evade them to avoid most of the damage. You only have 2-3 seconds for this so you have to pay attention and react quickly.
Overall the combat system is (much to my surprise) very engaging and extremely fun. It might just be the most fun combat system I have seen yet in a JRPG and I have played a lot of them.
On top of the stellar art design, the music accompanying it makes this game feel like an epic RPG. Plus the voice acting is really good as well, especially Mr. Drippy. The overall sound design and attention to detail are why Ni no Kuni holds up, be it on PS4 with the new graphics or just the straight-up port to Switch.
Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds is also a gacha game where players have to summon different kinds of materials, each important in their own right. Broadly, the gacha system covers 3 main aspects: Equipment’s. Familiars.
Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds has multiple gacha categories, including Familiars, Costumes, and Equipment. You only get the one free roll for Familiars, although you do get some bonus tickets for starting the game during its launch period.
