SM Entertainment has partnered with the British entertainment company Moon&Back Media to launch its first UK-based boy group

New boyband revealed for BBC’s Made in Korea: The K-Pop Experience

The series will follow ‘Dear Alice’, a band made up of five performers, all aged 19 to 23 and from diverse backgrounds, while BBC Radio 1 DJ Vick Hope will narrate their path to the global stage.

“I’m really looking forward to being a part of the show,” says Hope, “it’s a fresh way to bring along a brand-new boyband, and I’m excited to see their journey.”

Blaise Noon, a former BRIT School student from London, is the youngest member of the band at 19 years old. A fellow Londoner in Dexter Greenwood (22 years old) is joining him, having just completed a three-year performing arts diploma in Musical Theatre.

23-year-old TikToker James Sharp (one half of the Sharp Twins, who boast 5.5 million followers) is heading to South Korea from Huddersfield. While Olly Quinn (20 years old), a childhood chorister and recent graduate in musical theatre, hails from Sunderland.

Rounding off the band is Reese Carter, aged 20 from Wiltshire, who has left behind his job as a cruise ship performer in pursuit of his dreams.

The announcement of this ground-breaking project was made last year and has been garnering much attention. This collaboration aims to merge SM’s expertise in K-pop production with Moon&Back’s experience in creating popular music TV formats like ‘Got Talent’ and ‘The X Factor.’

The series, titled ‘Made in Korea: The K-Pop Experience,’ will follow the formation and development of the boy band, showcasing their journey through rigorous K-pop training and preparation for their debut.

BBC One also revealed information on the group Dear Alice, consisting of five members: James Sharp, Dexter Greenwood, Oliver Quinn, Reese Carter, and Blaise Noon.

The six-episode series will follow these members as they travel to South Korea for intensive K-Pop training, airing later this month on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

The members of Dear Alice are:

Blaise Noon – the youngest of the band at 19 years old and from London. A former pupil of the BRIT school, he has grown up acting, singing and dancing.

Dexter Greenwood is aged 22 and also from London. Having completed a three-year performing arts diploma in Musical Theatre, Dexter is now stepping into the world of pop.

James Sharp is a 23-year-old content creator from Huddersfield. Alongside his brother, James is one half of the Sharp twins whose TikTok account has amassed 5.5M followers.

Olly Quinn is 20 years old and from Sunderland. As a childhood chorister, he grew up singing and is a recent graduate in dance and musical theatre.

Reese Carter, aged 20 from Wiltshire, has previously been working as a performer on cruise ships, which he’s now left behind in the hope of pursuing his boyband dreams.
