Marvel Studios Brings ‘The Fantastic Four’ Cast & Secret Trailer To Comic-Con

Today, Marvel Studios held their world-famous Hall H presentation at San Deigo Comic-Con.

After featuring two new trailers for Captain America: Brave New World and the Thunderbolts, the studio switched gears to Marvel’s First Family, The Fantastic Four.
The first-only director, Matt Shakman, was brought on stage with Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige. The director explained the different scientific and mechanical research that went into the film to bring a retro-futuristic world to life.
They then brought the entire cast on stage to reveal while production officially begins next week in London; they spent the last week filming an exclusive concept trailer for the Hall H attendees.

Pedro Pascal and The Fantastic Four Cast Kick Off Marvel’s Phase 6 at Comic-Con: ‘We’re in the Newbie Process’

The new ‘Fantastic Four’ movie stars Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Joseph Quinn
In San Diego Convention Center’s Hall H, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, 51, introduced the film’s director Matt Shakman. The cast, they said, were too busy preparing to being filming next week. However, after a sizzle reel offering glimpses of them in action, Pascal, Kirby, Moss-Bachrach and Quinn emerged to thunderous applause.

The footage includes Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm.
The footage looked like stock film of Walt Disney from the 1950’s and 60’s (as that’s what Pedro Pascal sounds very much like). He is teaching a class of children about atomic age and space travel.
The four are scenes getting ready as astronauts about to be launched into space. As well as several shots of retro-future New York City.
Finally, the clip ends with Galactus appearing through a skyscraper before the new subtitle is revealed on screen “The Fantastic Four: First Steps”.

Also announced at the panel, Michael Giacchino (“Up,” “Lost”) will compose the score for “First Steps.” The panelists are flying back to the U.K. on Monday and production will begin soon after.

The all-star cast of Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards, aka Mister Fantastic) Vanessa Kirby (Susan Storm, aka the Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm, aka Human Torch) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm, aka The Thing) arrived on stage during Marvel’s San Diego Comic-Con panel in Hall H.

While the Fantastic Four pic’s plot has thus far been kept under wraps, Pascal plays Reed Richards (aka Mr. Fantastic), with Kirby as Sue Storm (aka the Invisible Woman), Quinn as Johnny Storm (aka the Human Torch) and Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (aka the Thing). Paul Walter Hauser and Natasha Lyonne are on board in undisclosed roles, with Julia Garner set to play Shalla-Bal, a version of Silver Surfer, and Ralph Ineson to play big bad Galactus.

In a recent appearance on The Official Marvel Podcast, Marvel chief Kevin Feige called the project “a period film” and shared that filming will commence on the Monday after Comic-Con, July 29.
